Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is an autonomous Society under the Ministry of Power, Government of India engaged in Research and Development in the fields of generation, transmission, distribution and operation of electricity supply systems. CPRI acts as an apex body for initiating and coordinating applied research in electrical power engineering assisting the electrical industry in product development and in Quality Assurance. CPRI also serves as an independent Authority for Testing & Certification of power equipment. The CPRI Head office is situated at Bangalore and its units are at Bhopal, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Noida, Kolkata and Guwahati and site office in NHPTL, Bina (M.P.) and Nasik.

  • Engineering Officer Gr.I: Level – 7 Rs. 44,900 – 142400
  • Engineering Assistant: Level – 6 Rs. 35,400 – 112400
  • Technician Gr. 1: Level – 2 Rs. 19900 – 63200
  • Junior Hindi Translator: Level – 6 Rs. 35,400 – 112400
  • Assistant Gr. II: Level – 4 Rs. 25500 – 81100
  • MTS Grade 1 (Watchman): Level – 1 Rs. 18000 – 56900

Educational Qualification: 

  • Engineering Officer Gr.I: BE/ B. Tech with First Class in Electrical /Electrical & Electronics/Mechanical/Metallurgy / Civil / Chemical Engineering/ Computer Science With an aggregate minimum of 65% or 6.84/10 CGPA. Candidates applying with qualification of AMIE should have 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 in Section B alone (Qualifying of AMIE candidates will be regulated as per MHRD Order No. 11-15-2011-AR(TS.II) dated 6.12.2012. Candidates enrolled for AMIE up to 31.5.2013 and completed the course are only eligible). The candidates applying for the post essentially shall posses valid GATE score for the year 2017/2018.
  • Engineering Assistant: 3 year Diploma with First Class in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering.
  • Technician Gr. 1: 2 year ITI certificate in Electrician Trade.
  • Junior Hindi Translator: A Master Degree with First Class with Hindi and English as Elective Subjects.
  • Assistant Gr. II: A University Degree in Commerce(B.Com) with First Class. English Typing speed of 30 w.p.m on Computer
  • MTS Grade 1 (Watchman): Ex-serviceman preferably with 10th Pass

Experience (If Any): 

  • Engineering Officer Gr.I: Not Required
  • Engineering Assistant: 5 Years post qualification experience in areas such as Supervision and assisting in Operation and Maintenance, Testing of Electrical Equipment’s.
  • Technician Gr. 1: Not Required
  • Junior Hindi Translator: 2 years of post-degree experience in Hindi Translation
  • Assistant Gr. II: 3 years of post-degree experience in areas such as Finance & Accounts, Establishment & Administration, etc.
  • MTS Grade 1 (Watchman): Not Required

Maximum Age Limit As On 29.10.2018: 

  • Engineering Officer Gr.I: 30 Years
  • Engineering Assistant: 35 Years
  • Technician Gr. 1: 28 Years
  • Junior Hindi Translator: 30 Years
  • Assistant Gr. II: 30 Years
  • MTS Grade 1 (Watchman): 45 Years

Selection Process: 

  • Engineering Officer Gr.I: The selection is on the basis of their valid GATE Score (2017/2018) in the order of merit.
  • Engineering Assistant: The eligible shortlisted candidates will be called for OMR based MCQ Test. The final selection will be based on their performance in MCQ test and academic merit. The weightage for the purpose will be 50% each in respect of Academic Merit & Marks scored in the MCQ test.
  • Technician Gr. 1: The eligible candidates will be called for OMR based MCQ test and Trade test. The final selection will be based on their performance in the MCQ test subject to qualifying in Trade test. Trade test will be go-no-go basis. The candidates who qualify in the Trade test, empanelment shall be done based on MCQ test merit. Qualifying in Trade test is mandatory for selection.
  • Junior Hindi Translator: The eligible short-listed candidates will be called for OMR based MCQ/Written test. The final selection will be based on their performance of MCQ/Written test and academic merit prescribed for the post. The weightage for the purpose will be 50% each in respect of Academic Merit & Marks scored in the MCQ/Written test.
  • Assistant Gr. II: The eligible shortlisted candidates will be called for OMR based MCQ test and skill test. The final selection will be based on their performance in the MCQ test subject to their qualifying in skill test. Selection is based on their performance in the MCQ test and Academic merit (i.e. 50% each). Candidates will be shortlisted and called for skill test. Computer typing test (30 wpm) will be purely go-no-go basis.From amongst the candidates who qualify in the Computer Literacy test, empanelment shall be done based on the MCQ test and Academic merit (i.e. 50% each). Qualifying in Typing test is mandatory for Selection.
  • MTS Grade 1 (Watchman): The eligible short-listed candidates will be called for MCQ test and those who qualify in the test are ranked for selection based on Physical test and experience. Physical test is qualifying in nature. Qualifying in physical test is mandatory for Selection.
