Salary / Pay Scale for OPSC Insurance Medical Officer
Candidates selected as Insurance Medical Officer by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) will be appointed in the Scale of Pay of ₹56,100/- in Level-12, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix as per ORSP Rules, 2017 with usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.
Apart from the above, the Specialists would be getting a monthly incentive also as per the details given below:
- ₹30,000/- for Super Specialization
- ₹20,000/- for Post-Graduation
- ₹10,000/- for P.G. Diploma qualifications recognized by the Government of Odisha.

Educational Qualification / Eligibility Criteria for OPSC Insurance Medical Officer
For being eligible for the post of Insurance Medical Officer in Group-A (Junior Branch), a candidate must possess following essential qualification:-
- M.B.B.S. or equivalent Degree from a Medical College or Medical Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India.
- A valid Registration Certificate under the Odisha Medical Regulation Rules, 1965.
- In case the candidate is having Degree from Universities of Foreign Countries, he must possess required Conversion Certificates recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI).
Age Limit for Insurance Medical Officer Posts Notified by OPSC
For OPSC Insurance Medical Officer Recruitment 2023, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 (twenty-one) years and must not be above the age of 38 (Thirty-Eight) years as on the 1st day of January 2022 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1984 and not later than 1st January 2001.
Relaxation in the upper age limit for various reserved categories will be as follows:-
- Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (S.E.B.C.), Scheduled Caste (S.C.), Scheduled Tribe (S.T.), Women & Ex-Servicemen : 05 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates of UR category : 10 years
- PwD candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ SEBC categories : 15 years
