Salary / Pay Scale for Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee in Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL)
During the course of their training, the Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainees (JMOT) in OPTCL are entitled to receive a consolidated stipend in the amount of ₹ 10,000/- per month (subject to revision).

Educational Qualification / Eligibility Criteria for OPTCL Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee
To be eligible for the OPTCL Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee recruitment 2023, you need to meet the educational qualification criteria set by the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited. The minimum educational requirement for this position is a High School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent from a recognized board with ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade from NCVT with minimum 60% marks for General & SEBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
Age Limit for OPTCL Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee Recruitment 2023
Candidates applying for the position of Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee in OPTCL must be between the ages of 21 (twenty one) and 32 (thirty two) as of January 1, 2023.
Relaxation for SC/ST/SEBC, Persons with Disabilities, Ex-Servicemen and Women:
- For SC, ST, and SEBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
- For female candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 (five) years.
- For PwBD candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by ten (10) years.
- Every ex-serviceman who has served in the Army/Navy/Air Force of the Union for at least six months continuous service may subtract the length of such service from his actual age, and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit, he is assumed to meet the age limit conditions.
Selection Process for Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee in Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL)
A computer-based test (CBT) and a skill test are used in the selection process for Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee in Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL).
Eligible candidates will be called for Computer Based Test, comprising 200 number of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), out of which Subject Knowledge (80%), Numerical / GK & Reasoning (10%) & English Knowledge (10%). The CBT will be of Three (3) hours duration.
Candidates who qualify in CBT and shortlisted, shall be called for Skill Test in 1:3 ratio in each category. Since the job involves climbing of Towers / Structures, manual closing/opening of isolators and other Electrical Operation & Maintenance related activities; Skill Test shall be conducted on the above activities.
The merit list of the qualified candidates will be drawn purely on the basis of Performance in the CBT and Skill Test.
