The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has officially released the Annual Recruitment Calendar for the year 2025. This calendar outlines the recruitment schedules for various positions across the Indian Railways, providing a clear timeline for assessments and vacancy indenting. Zonal Railways and Production Units are instructed to align their recruitment processes accordingly.
As per the circular issued by the Railway Board on October 10, 2024, the following recruitment phases will take place:
Key Recruitment Categories:
1. January – March 2025: Recruitment for the position of Assistant Loco Pilot. Zonal Railways are expected to assess their vacancies by November 2024 and initiate the indenting process in January 2025.
2. April – June 2025: Recruitment for Technicians will take place. Vacancy assessments should be completed by February 2025, and the indenting process will begin by March 2025.
3. July – September 2025: Recruitment for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC), both graduate (Level 4, 5, 6) and undergraduate (Level 2, 3) positions, along with Junior Engineers, Depot Material Superintendents, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistants. Vacancy assessments are scheduled for May and June 2025.
4. October – December 2025: Recruitment for Level 1, Paramedical, and Ministerial & Isolated Categories will be conducted. The final vacancy assessments will be completed by September 2025.
