Salary / Pay Scale for OPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon
Pay Scale of the candidates selected as Veterinary Assistant Surgeon / Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon in Group – A (Junior Branch-II) of Odisha Veterinary Service under Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department will be ₹ 56,100/- in Level 12, Cell -1 of Pay Matrix of ORSP Rules, 2017.
They will also get usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Educational Qualification / Eligibility Criteria for OPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon
For being eligible for the post of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon / Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (Group – A), a candidate must have following essential qualification:-
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) or its equivalent degree from any recognized University / College / Institution in India or abroad.
- Possess required conversion certificates recognized by Veterinary Council of India (VCI) in case of candidate having Degrees from Universities of Foreign Countries;
- Possess valid Registration Certificate under the Odisha Veterinary Practitioners Act, 1970 (Section 21).
Age Limit for OPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon
For OPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Recruitment 2022, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 (twenty-one) years and must not be above the age of 38 (Thirty-Eight) years as on the 1st day of January 2022 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1984 and not later than 1st January 2001.
Relaxation in the upper age limit for various reserved categories will be as follows:-
- Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (S.E.B.C.), Scheduled Caste (S.C.), Scheduled Tribe (S.T.), Women & Ex-Servicemen : 05 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates of UR category : 10 years
- PwD candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ SEBC categories : 15 years

As per the notification given by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), selection of the candidates for Veterinary Assistant Surgeon posts shall be made on the basis of Written Examination.
