ISRO JRF Recruitment 2022 - Notification Details

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has published ISRO JRF Recruitment 2022 notification for engagement of bright candidates with scientific aptitude to work as Junior Research Fellows (JRF) at Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad which is one of the lead Centres of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS). JRFs have to work on land, ocean, atmosphere applications of remote sensing for monitoring, modelling and management of natural resources. In addition, research opportunities can be given in planetary sciences and web based services. They will be engaged initially for ONE YEAR and is extendable for further periods based on assessment of their work and requirement of project. The maximum period of engagement of Junior Research Fellow shall not exceed FIVE years.

Emoluments & Other Benefits for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) in ISRO

Candidates selected as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in ISRO will be given a Fellowship amount of ₹ 31,000/- Per month + HRA for the 1st & 2nd year. For the subsequent years they will get ₹ 35,000/- Per month + HRA. Medical benefits for self only will be allowed as per extant rules.

Total vacancies notified by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) are 27.

Educational Qualification / Eligibility Criteria for ISRO Junior Research Fellows (JRF)

For being eligible for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in ISRO, required qualifications are as follows:-

M.Tech with First class with a minimum of 60% marks (aggregate of all semesters) or CGPA grading of 6.5 on a 10 Point scale or M.Sc. with First class with a minimum of 65% marks (aggregate of all semesters) or CGPA grading of 6.84 on a 10 Point scale.

AND

Applicants should also have qualified one of the following:

  1. CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test, including NET-Lectureship.
  2. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by MHRD.
  3. National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

Candidates should have good academic record and education throughout in Science or Engineering Stream.

Age Limit for ISRO Junior Research Fellows (JRF)

The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) as notified by ISRO is 28 years. 

Age Relaxation for SC/ ST candidates is 05 years and for OBC candidates it is 03 years. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen candidates are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process for JRF in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)

Selection of candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will be done through Personal Interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the Interview. Shortlisting of the candidates will be based on their academic records or performance in written test (if required).

Candidates are not required to pay any application fees for JRF post in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
