NMDC Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure they meet the specified eligibility criteria regarding educational qualifications, age limits, and experience before applying. It is crucial to note that candidates possessing higher qualifications than those prescribed are not eligible to apply. 

Educational Qualification & Experience:

  • Field Attendant (Trainee) (RS-01): Middle / 8th Pass or ITI. 
  • Maintenance Assistant (Elect.) (Trainee) (RS-02): ITI in Electrical Trade. 
  • Maintenance Assistant (Mech) (Trainee) (RS-02): ITI in Welding / Fitter / Machinist/ Motor Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic/ Auto Electrician. 
  • Blaster Gr.- II (Trainee) (RS-04): Matric / ITI with Blaster / Mining Mate certificate and First Aid certificate. Requires 3 years of post-qualification experience in blasting operation. 
  • Electrician Gr.-III (Trainee) (RS-04): Three years Diploma in Electrical Engineering with Industrial/Domestic Electrical Installations Certificate. 
  • Electronics Technician Gr.-III (Trainee) (RS-04): Three years Diploma in Electronics Engineering. 
  • HEM Mechanic Gr.-III (Trainee) (RS-04): Three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License. 
  • HEM Operator Gr.-III (Trainee) (RS-04): Three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering with a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License. 
  • MCO Gr.-III (Trainee) (RS-04): Three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License. 
  • QCA Gr III (Trainee) (RS-04): B.Sc (Chemistry/Geology). Post qualification experience of 1 year in sampling work is essential. 

Age Limit:

  • Maximum Age: 30 years for posts in RS-04 grade (Blaster, Electrician, Electronics Technician, HEM Mechanic, HEM Operator, MCO, QCA). For RS-01 and RS-02 grades, the maximum age is also implied to be 30 years, with relaxations as per rules.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years. 
  • Cut-off Date for Maximum Age: June 14, 2025. 
  • Age Relaxation:
    • Up to 5 years for SC/STs. 
    • Up to 3 years for OBCs (Non-Creamy Layer). 
    • As per Govt. of India Guidelines for PwBD/Ex. Servicemen. 
    • For departmental candidates (NMDC), age relaxation will be as per company rules. 
    • 05 years for meritorious sportspersons as per Govt. of India Guidelines.

NMDC Trainee Salary & Benefits 2025

Selected candidates will undergo an 18-month on-the-job training period. 

Stipend During Training:

  • Field Attendant (Trainee) RS-01: ₹18,000 (First 12 Months), ₹18,500 (Next 06 Months). 
  • Maintenance Assistant (Elect/Mech) (Trainee) RS-02: ₹18,000 (First 12 Months), ₹18,500 (Next 06 Months). 
  • Blaster Gr.-II, Electrician Gr.-III, Electronics Technician Gr.-III, HEM Mechanic Gr.-III, HEM Operator Gr.-III, MCO Gr.-III, QCA Gr.-III (Trainees) RS-04: ₹19,000 (First 12 Months), ₹19,500 (Next 06 Months).

Pay Scale on Regularization:

  • Field Attendant (RS-01): ₹18,100-3%-31850. 
  • Maintenance Assistant (Elect/Mech) (RS-02): ₹18,700-3%-32940. 
  • Blaster Gr.-II, Electrician Gr.-III, Electronics Technician Gr.-III, HEM Mechanic Gr.-III, HEM Operator Gr.-III, MCO Gr.-III, QCA Gr.-III (RS-04): ₹19,900-3%-35040.

NMDC Selection Process 2025

The selection process will involve two stages:

  1. First Level Test:
    • Field Attendant (Trainee): OMR Based Test. 
      • General Knowledge: 70 Marks. 
      • Numerical and reasoning ability: 30 Marks. 
    • Other Posts (Maintenance Assistant, Blaster, Electrician, etc.): Computer Based Test (CBT). 
      • Part I: Subject Knowledge (on specific trade): 30 Marks. 
      • Part II: General Knowledge: 50 Marks; Numerical and reasoning ability: 20 Marks. 
    • The maximum marks for the OMR/CBT will be 100. 
    • Question papers will be in Hindi & English for Kirandul and Bacheli Complexes. For Donimalai Complex, it will be in Hindi, English & Kannada. 
  2. Second Level Test:
    • Field Attendant (Trainee): Physical Ability Test (Qualifying in nature). 
    • Other Posts: Trade Test in respective trade (Qualifying in nature). 
    • The qualifying marks for the Second Level Test (out of 100) are:
      • 40% for UR/EWS Candidates. 
      • 37% for OBC (NCL) Candidates. 
      • 30% for SC/ST/PwBD Candidates. 

Important Points Regarding Selection:

  • Candidates will be called for the 2nd level test in a 1:3 ratio based on their performance in the OMR/CBT, subject to reservation policy and securing minimum qualifying marks. 
  • Minimum qualifying marks in OMR/CBT: SC/ST/PwBD – 40 marks, OBC(NCL) – 45 marks, UR/EWS – 50 marks. 
  • Final selection is based on marks obtained in the OMR Based Test / Computer Based Test (CBT), subject to qualifying in the 2nd Level Test. 
  • Document verification will occur at the time of the 2nd level test.
