How SSC Recruitment Works

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) fills Group B and Group C posts in central ministries, departments and the central armed police forces. Each exam is pitched at one qualification: 10th for MTS and GD Constable, 12th for CHSL, Stenographer and Delhi Police Constable, a degree for CGL and CPO, and an engineering diploma or degree for JE. You apply online on the SSC website or the mySSC app. The list above shows every SSC form open today. The table below covers SSC’s regular exams, as per their latest notices.

Check These Before You Apply

  • The age date: most SSC exams count age on 1 August of the exam year; GD Constable counts it on 1 January. Check yours with the age calculator.
  • Normalised marks: SSC computer tests run in many shifts, so marks are normalised across shifts before the cut-off is applied.
  • Post preferences: CGL and Stenographer ask you to rank posts in an online preference form, and the posts differ in pay level and duties. Read the post list before you fill it.
  • Physical tests: GD Constable, Havaldar, CPO and Delhi Police selections include physical standard and efficiency tests.
  • Apply only on the official SSC website or mySSC app and pay only the fee given in the notice. Every GovtJobsAlert post links the official notice.

SSC jobs by qualification: 10th pass, 12th pass, graduate and diploma.
