The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) recruits for state departments, from Lower Division Assistant posts for 12th pass candidates to Stenographer, engineer and officer posts; new users first complete a one-time registration. The High Court of Meghalaya recruits Civil Judges for the Meghalaya Judicial Service, Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) hires engineers and takes graduate apprentices, and MMDSL fills contract posts in the state’s medicine supply system. Check These Before You Apply
- Seats by community: MPSC, High Court and MeECL notices split seats between Unreserved, Khasi-Jaintia and Garo candidates, and some add an Other ST/SC quota, so check the seats for your own group.
- Residence matters: MPSC halves the fee for SC and ST candidates only if they are permanent residents of Meghalaya. MeECL’s Graduate Apprentice notice is only for residents of Meghalaya, MMDSL gives preference to Meghalaya domiciles, and a recent DMHO Ri-Bhoi Staff Nurse notice took only permanent residents of that district.
- Local languages: the High Court’s Civil Judge exam has a Khasi or Garo language paper, and one MPSC notice lists knowledge of Khasi, Jaintia or Garo as desirable.
- Age limits: most MPSC notices take 18–32 years (21–32 for some officer posts), counted on 1 January, with 5 more years for SC and ST; regular government employees who joined within the age limit have no upper limit. Check yours with the age calculator.
