Central Railway runs through five clusters. RRC Central Railway is the nodal agency that collects all online applications and prepares the merit lists. This is a centralised notification, but there is no centralised merit list. Each Division or Unit gets its own list.

How Many Vacancies Are There in RRC Central Railway Apprentice 2026?
The notification calls these posts training slots. Slots are provisional, and RRC can increase or decrease them. The PwBD and Ex-Servicemen seats are included inside the totals, not extra. The official tables list UR, OBC, SC and ST seats for each unit. Some printed unit-level totals in the PDF do not match their own rows, so use the total of 2861 and check your own unit and trade in the PDF.

Check that your ITI trade has slots in the cluster and units you pick. If it has none there, your application becomes meaningless, and you cannot change it after final submission.
What Is the Eligibility for RRC Central Railway Apprentice 2026?

Born between (both dates inclusive): UR 03/11/2002 to 03/11/2011, SC / ST 03/11/1997 to 03/11/2011, OBC 03/11/1999 to 03/11/2011. The Ex-Servicemen relaxation is not given to those who already joined Government service on the civil side after using their Ex-Servicemen status.
Rules for PwBD Candidates
Only three types are eligible: Locomotor / Cerebral Palsy (OH) with at least 40% disability, Hearing Handicapped (HH) with 60 decibels or more in the better ear, and Low Vision (VH). Other PwBD candidates should not apply as PwBD and get no concessions. OH candidates should read the trade-wise suitability table in the PDF. What Is the Stipend (Salary) for RRC Central Railway Apprentice 2026?
Act Apprentices get ₹9,600 per month as a National or State Certificate holder, as per RBE No. 116/2025 dated 11/11/2025. Training is 1 year for every trade.

Finishing the training does not promise a Railway job. It shall not be obligatory on the part of the employer to offer any employment, and you need not accept one. What Is the Selection Process for RRC Central Railway Apprentice 2026?

Only aggregate marks count; marks in individual subjects or a group of subjects shall not be considered. For ITI, the average of all semesters from the consolidated statement, or the marks in the Provisional National Trade Certificate, is used. If your board gives only grades, take the midpoint of the grade range and enter your own percentage. If the marks you enter differ from RRC’s calculation, your application is summarily rejected.
The final merit list is prepared cluster and unit wise, trade wise and community wise, equal to the number of slots. If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate is preferred. If the birth date is also the same, the one who passed Matriculation earlier comes first. Without the medical certificate, no document verification will be conducted and your candidature is liable to be cancelled.
How to Apply Online for RRC Central Railway Apprentice 2026?
Keep your Aadhaar, Matriculation certificate, ITI marksheet and certificate, photo and signature ready. Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam can enter another valid Government ID instead of Aadhaar.
