Check These Before You Apply
- Reservation needs local roots: in recent High Court notices, SC, ST and BC benefits need domicile or permanent residence in Punjab, Haryana or UT Chandigarh; candidates from other states count as General.
- OBC claims in UT posts: GMCH and NHM Chandigarh accept OBC claims only from candidates who belong to UT Chandigarh and whose community is on the Central OBC list for Chandigarh (GMCH also accepts the Chandigarh BC list). Migrants from other states cannot claim Chandigarh’s OBC benefits.
- Computer certificate: the Chandigarh Administration’s latest Clerk and Steno-Typist notice asks for a CCC computer certificate of at least 80 hours, and an NHM Chandigarh specialist walk-in asked for CCC+ (120 hours).
- Age relaxation: GMCH and PGIMER give no age relaxation to reserved-category candidates who apply against an unreserved post. The latest Chandigarh Administration Clerk notice allowed 18–27 years. Check your age on the notice’s cut-off date with the age calculator.
