The Staff Selection Commission has issued a notice dated 31 August 2026 confirming that the examination city details for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2026 (Tier-I) can be viewed right now through the designated candidate login module on the Commission’s website. The Tier-I Computer Based Examination is scheduled from 9 September 2026 to 12 September 2026, and the Admission Certificate (admit card) will tentatively be available for download two to three (02/03) days before your own examination date, through the same login module — so keep checking your login as your date approaches. If you opted for the ‘Own Scribe’ facility, read the scribe points carefully: the Commission has changed the rules and there is a hard deadline of 7 September 2026 that is very easy to miss.

  • Tier-I Computer Based Examination: 9 September 2026 to 12 September 2026.

  • Own Scribe — fresh registration required: scribe registrations made prior to 5 November 2025 have been disposed off, so anyone willing to enrol or appear as a scribe must complete a fresh registration on the Commission’s website.
  • Own Scribe — Aadhaar Authentication: scribe registration has now been integrated with Aadhaar Authentication, and completing it is mandatory for all such personnel.
  • Own Scribe — Entry Pass: candidates availing the facility must submit their scribe’s registration number for the Scribe’s Entry Pass to be generated.
  • Scribe OTR mapping deadline: 7 September 2026 (11:00 P.M.) for Stenographer Tier-I. The Scribe Entry Pass will be generated only for candidates who successfully map their Scribe OTR — miss the mapping and no entry pass is issued.

Stage 2 — Skill Test in Stenography

Shortlisted candidates from the CBE are given one dictation of 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as chosen in the form):
