The pay scale is Rs. 54,175 – 99,400, and Assistant Town Planner is by far the biggest post.

Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years. The maximum age is counted on the last date to apply, and these limits already include a one-time 5-year relaxation granted by a Government Order dated 29 January 2026.

Conditions That Can Cost You the Post
- You must be an Indian citizen, physically and mentally fit.
- A person with a bigamy record, without Government permission, is not eligible.
- Anyone permanently debarred by UPSC, KPSC, any other PSC or KEA cannot apply.
- Anyone convicted for moral turpitude, or temporarily debarred, stays ineligible until Government review.
- You must pass the compulsory Kannada test unless exempt (see Selection Process).
What is the Salary for KEA Recruitment 2026 Group C Posts?
Every post carries the same pay scale, which starts at Rs. 54,175 and tops out at Rs. 99,400 in stages. This is a strong scale for a diploma-level job, so it is worth the preparation. The probation period is 2 years.
As for pension, the NPS applies to all posts except KRIDL, where NPS is not applicable. If you are choosing between several departments, keep this in mind.
What is the Selection Process for KEA Recruitment 2026?

Paper 1 covers current events, everyday science, the Indian Constitution, Indian history and geography with a focus on Karnataka, state and local administration, and the Karnataka economy and environment. The Paper 2 syllabus is published separately.
- Each question has 4 options, and 0.25 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
- The OMR sheet has a 5th option for questions you skip. If you shade nothing, 0.25 is still deducted.
- You need at least 35% in the competitive exam to be eligible, and merit is based on percentage of total marks.
- The Kannada test is an MCQ paper of 150 marks, with at least 50 needed to qualify, and its marks do not count for merit.
- You are exempt if you studied Kannada as first or second language in SSLC or higher, studied in Kannada medium, or passed a compulsory Kannada test earlier.
- In a tie, the older candidate ranks higher. If the age is also equal, higher marks in the qualifying exam decide.
If you apply under both notifications, you get one combined Candidate Verification Slip and one post through counselling across both.
How to Apply Online for KEA Recruitment 2026?
Keep ready your Aadhaar, marks cards, SSLC certificate showing date of birth, and caste or reservation certificates with RD number. KK local candidates also need the Article 371(J) certificate. Upload a passport photo (JPEG, white background, 50-200 KB) and a black-ink signature (JPEG, 50-70 KB).
