Eligibility Criteria for CSIR AMPRI JSA Posts

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements as of the last date of online application submission (May 17, 2025):

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • 10+2/XII standard pass or its equivalent. (A 3-year diploma acquired after the 10th standard is considered equivalent ).
  • Typing Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in computer type speed: 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) in English OR 30 w.p.m. in Hindi. This corresponds to 10500 Key Depressions Per Hour (KDPH) / 9000 KDPH respectively.
    • Proficiency in using computers as per norms fixed by DoPT.
  • Age Limit:
    • The upper age limit is 28 years as of May 17, 2025.
    • Minimum age is 18 years.
    • Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years) as per Government of India rules for reserved posts.
    • Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) is 10 years (15 for SC/ST, 13 for OBC).
    • Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially Separated (up to 35 years; 40 for SC/ST, 38 for OBC).

CSIR AMPRI JSA Selection Process

The selection process involves the following stages:

  1. Competitive Written Examination:
    • The exam will consist of two papers (Paper-I and Paper-II).
    • Mode: OMR based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice.
    • Medium: English and Hindi (except for English Language questions).
    • Standard: Class XII.
    • Total Questions: 200.
    • Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes.
    • Paper-I (Mental Ability Test): 100 questions, 200 marks (2 marks each), 90 minutes duration. No negative marking. Topics include General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Situational Judgment.
    • Paper-II (General Awareness & English Language): 60 minutes duration. Negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer.
      • General Awareness: 50 questions, 150 marks (3 marks each).
      • English Language: 50 questions, 150 marks (3 marks each).
    • Paper-II will only be evaluated for candidates securing minimum threshold marks in Paper-I.
  2. Proficiency Test (Typing Test):
    • Typing Speed: English @ 35 w.p.m. OR Hindi @ 30 w.p.m.
    • Duration: 10 minutes.
    • Nature: Qualifying only. Candidates must qualify this test.
  3. Merit List:
    • The final merit list will be prepared based solely on the marks obtained in Paper-II of the written examination.
    • Only candidates who qualify the typing test will be included in the merit list.
    • Tie-breaking methodology will be applied if necessary.
  4. Document Verification: Verification of original documents and caste/educational certificates.
