A total of 25 vacancies are available across Graduate Apprentice, Technician Apprentice, and Trade Apprentice categories. Eligibility Criteria for IREL Apprenticeship 2025
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Must possess the specific qualifications (B.Tech, Diploma, ITI, B.Sc., MBA, CA/ICWA) for the respective trade as listed in the vacancy table.
- Qualifications acquired through Distance Learning, Part-Time, or Correspondence Mode are NOT eligible.
- Candidates with higher qualifications than prescribed need not apply.
- Candidates must provide certificates and mark sheets (semester/year-wise) for their qualifying examination. Where CGPA/grades are awarded, an equivalent percentage certificate from the University/Institute is required.
- Prior Training: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, are NOT eligible.
- Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 18 years as of 31/05/2025.
- Maximum Age: 25 years as of 31/05/2025.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: Up to 5 years.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer – NCL): Up to 3 years. (Valid NCL certificate required)
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Up to 10 years. (Valid certificate required)

Stipend & Benefits During Apprenticeship
- Stipend: Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and as notified by the Government from time to time. The exact amount is not specified in the notification but will adhere to government norms.
- Other Benefits: No other benefits or financial assistance will be provided by IREL during the training period.
- Duration: The apprenticeship training duration is one year for all trades.
- Employment Obligation: IREL has no obligation to offer regular employment to apprentices during or after the completion of the training period. Apprentices will be relieved after successful completion of the training.
IREL Apprentice Selection Process 2025
The selection methodology involves the following stages:
- Merit List: Selection will be based purely on a merit list prepared from the marks scored in the specified educational qualification.
- Tie-Breaking: In case of a tie in marks, the candidate with higher marks in the specified qualification will be preferred. If still tied, the candidate senior in age (based on Date of Birth) will be selected.
- Priority Criteria: The following priority order will be applied for selection at the Rare Earths Division (RED):
- A. Land Affected Category candidates (relevant to RED, if applicable).
- B. Candidates from peripheral villages (within 10 km radius of RED) and wards of serving/deceased IREL employees.
- C. Candidates from Ernakulam District.
- D. Candidates from Kerala State.
- E. Others.
- Documentary proof is required for categories A, B, C, and D.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates (based on merit and priority) will be called for document verification. Candidates must produce ORIGINAL documents along with self-attested photocopies of all relevant certificates (Education, Age, Caste/PwBD, Portal Enrollment Proof, Aadhaar, Nativity, etc.). Failure to produce original documents or not meeting eligibility criteria will lead to rejection.
- Medical Examination: Candidates shortlisted after document verification must undergo a medical examination by the Company’s authorized doctor and be declared “Medically Fit”.
- Police Verification: Due to the nature of the facility, selected apprentices must submit a Police Verification Certificate from their local police authorities before joining the training.
How to Apply for IREL Apprentice Recruitment 2025
Follow these steps carefully:
- Portal Registration (Mandatory):
- Graduate & Technician Apprentices: Enroll on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS 2.0) portal.
- Trade Apprentices (including Executive-HR, Executive-Finance, LACP, Fitter, Welder, MMV, Electrician, PASAA/COPA): Register on the Apprenticeship India portal (Ministry of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship).
- Applications without prior registration on the relevant portal will NOT be accepted.
- Apply on Portal:
- Trade Apprentices: Apply through Establishment Registration No. E11153200006 on the Apprenticeship India portal.
- Graduate & Technician Apprentices: Apply through Establishment Registration No. SKLERC000015 on the NATS portal.
- Download & Fill Application Form: Download the application proforma (Annexure-A from the notification PDF or the separate Application Form PDF). Fill it out completely in BLOCK LETTERS. Affix a recent passport-size photograph.
- Prepare Documents: Gather self-attested photocopies of all required documents:
- Proof of Date of Birth (10th Certificate/Birth Certificate).
- 10th Mark Sheet.
- Caste (SC/ST/OBC-NCL), EWS, PwBD certificates (if applicable, in prescribed format). OBC-NCL certificate must be valid.
- Declaration form for OBC-NCL (as applicable).
- All Semester/Year-wise mark sheets and final Degree/Diploma/ITI certificate.
- Nativity Certificate.
- Aadhaar Card.
- Proof of enrollment in the respective apprenticeship portal (NATS/Apprenticeship India).
- Email Application: Scan the completed application form and all supporting documents. Send these scanned copies via email to [email protected].
