Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following general and specific eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  • Must possess the requisite qualification from a recognized university/institution at the time of applying.
  • Specific qualifications vary significantly by post. Examples include:
    • Dy.SP NPTO: Degree in Telecommunication/Electrical Communication/Electronics/Computer Engineering OR PG Degree in Physics with Electronics/Wireless.
    • JE (Electrical): Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
    • JE (Civil – Power): Diploma in Civil Engineering.
    • JE (Civil – RD): Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • SDO (Civil – W&H): Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • JE (Civil – W&H): 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering.
    • JE (Mech. – W&H): 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
    • JE (Agri/Civil – WR): B.E (Agri. Engg./Civil Engg.) OR 3-year Diploma (Agri./Civil Engg.). (Min 50% posts reserved for Agri. Engg. degree/diploma holders).
    • Foreman: 3-year Diploma in Printing Technology.
    • Medical Officer: MBBS from MCI/NMC recognized University.
    • Junior Dental Surgeon: BDS.
    • Staff Nurse: GNM or B.Sc./M.Sc. Nursing from INC recognized school with NNC registration.
    • Veterinary Asst. Surgeon: B.V.Sc & A.H / B.V.Sc.
    • Asst. Conservator of Forests: Bachelor’s Degree in specified science/engineering fields (Preference for Forestry graduates). Also requires passing a physical fitness test (walking test) and meeting minimum physical standards.
    • Assistant Programmer: B.E/B.Tech in IT/CSE/E&TC Engg. or MCA or M.Sc in Computer Science.
    • Tourist Officer: Degree in Hotel Management/Tourism OR Degree + Diploma in related field OR PG in Travel/Tourism Management.
    • Pharmacist: Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy and registered with State Pharmacy Council.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025):

  • Minimum Age: 21 years 
  • Maximum Age: 32 years 
  • Relaxation:
    • 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
    • For serving Government employees: Equal to the number of years in service, up to a maximum of 5 years.

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates must be Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland for posts reserved as such. Relevant certificates (Indigenous Inhabitant, SC, ST, BT) issued by competent authority (not below Addl. Deputy Commissioner) are required.
  • PwBD candidates require a certificate from a competent medical authority.

Selection Process

  • The selection process will follow the New Pattern of Examination as notified vide Notification No.NPSC/EXAM-1/2015 dated 3rd February, 2025 and Corrigendum dated 26th March, 2025.
  • Candidates are advised to download the updated syllabus from the NPSC website.
  • The process generally involves a written examination followed by an interview for successful candidates. Document verification is mandatory at the interview stage.

How to Apply

  1. One Time Registration (OTR): Complete the OTR process on the NPSC portal npsc.nagaland.gov.in between April 8th (Noon) and May 8th, 2025 (Noon). OTR is mandatory.
  2. Fill Application Form: After OTR registration (or if already registered), log in and fill the online application form for CTSE-2025 between April 9th (Noon) and May 9th, 2025 (Noon).
  3. Upload Documents: Upload necessary documents, including NOC if applicable. Ensure all certificates are issued on or before the application closing date.
  4. Pay Fees: Pay the examination fee online.
