Railway ICF Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • For Ex-ITI Candidates:
    • Fitter, Electrician & Machinist: Must have passed 10th Standard (Class X) with a minimum of 50% marks, with Science & Maths, under the 10+2 system. Additionally, candidates must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade from NCVT or SCVT.
    • Carpenter, Painter & Welder: Must have passed 10th Standard (Class X) with a minimum of 50% marks under the 10+2 system and hold an NTC in the notified trade.
    • Programming and System Admin. Asst. (PASAA): Must have passed 10th Standard (Class X) with a minimum of 50% marks and possess an NTC in Information Technology / Computer Operator and Programming Assistant / Database System Assistant / Software Testing Assistant.
  • For Fresher Candidates:
    • Fitter, Electrician & Machinist: Must have passed 10th Standard (Class X) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, with Science & Maths, under the 10+2 system.
    • Carpenter & Painter: Must have passed 10th Standard (Class X) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks under the 10+2 system.
    • Welder: Must have passed 10th Standard (Class X) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
    • MLT (Radiology & Pathology): Must have passed 12th Standard (Class XII) under the 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry & Biology.

Selection Process: Simple, Fair, and Merit-Based

The selection process for the ICF Trade Apprentice Recruitment is transparent and based purely on merit. There is no written examination, which simplifies the process for applicants.

  1. Merit List Preparation: The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the 10th Standard (or equivalent) examination. For candidates who passed during the COVID-19 pandemic without board exams, marks from the 9th Standard or 10th Standard half-yearly exams will be considered.
  2. Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be given preference. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the 10th Standard examination earlier will be selected.
  3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. You must produce all original certificates, including educational qualifications, community certificates (for SC/ST/OBC), and PwBD certificates, if applicable.
  4. Medical Examination: Finally, selected candidates must undergo a medical examination and be certified as physically fit by an authorized government doctor.
