- TRI-01 (Tribology): M.E/M.Tech or equivalent in Mechanical Engg/Tribology OR Ph.D. Submitted in Mechanical Engg/Tribology.
- DHO-1 (Distillate & Heavy Oil Processing): Ph.D. Submitted in Chemistry/Chemical sciences.
- SPD-1 (Separation Process – Lube & Wax): M.E/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering/Petroleum Engineering/ Petrochemical Engineering/Oil & Gas Engineering.
- BFD-1 (Bio Fuels): Ph.D. Submitted in Chemistry/Chemical Sciences.
- SPD-2 (Separation Process – Aromatic Extraction): Ph.D. Submitted in Chemistry/Chemical Sciences.

- Age Limit (as on 05.05.2025):
- Not exceeding 32 Years.
- Relaxations:
- Up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates for reserved posts.
- Up to 5 years for regular employees of CSIR/Government Departments/Autonomous bodies/PSUs.
- Relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) up to 10 years (15 for SC/ST, 13 for OBC). The maximum age should not exceed 56 years.
- Relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Judicially separated women up to 35 years (40 for SC/ST, 38 for OBC) if not remarried.
- SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for Unreserved (UR) posts are not eligible for age relaxation.

Salary & Benefits: Scientist Position
- Pay Scale: Pay Level-11 (₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700).
- Approximate Total Emoluments: ₹1,22,629/- per month (as on 01.07.2024, including HRA in a ‘Y’ Class City, DA, TA etc.).
- Allowances: Includes Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) as per Central Government/CSIR rules.

Selection Process

- Screening: A Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on their own criteria, considering qualifications and experience beyond the minimum essential requirements. Mere possession of minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview call.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Outstation candidates called for the interview will be paid single second-class rail fare.
