Eligibility Criteria for Senior Works Engineer in IRCON

Candidates must meet the following criteria as of April 1, 2025:

  • Educational Qualification:
  • Age Limit:
    • Maximum 35 Years.
    • Age relaxations apply as per Government of India guidelines and for IRCON departmental employees as per extant rules.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum three years of experience in areas of Electronic Interlocking/Relay Interlocking/Automatic Signaling/Telecom Works/Kavach.
    • Teaching, training, consultancy, or freelancing experience will not be considered relevant.
  • Medical Standards: Candidates must be in sound health and free from color blindness. No relaxation in health standards is permitted.

Salary & Benefits of Senior Works Engineer/S&T in IRCON

  • Fixed Consolidated Pay: ₹40,000/- per month.
  • Annual Increment: 5% on Fixed Consolidated Pay after each completed year of service.
  • Allowances: No allowances over and above the fixed pay. TA/DA is admissible if deputed for outstation duty.
  • Provident Fund (PF): Minimum PF deduction as per EPF & MP Act 1952, with a matching contribution from IRCON. Accumulations paid at the end of the contract.
  • Leave: One leave per calendar month of service, can be accumulated but not encashed. Weekly offs and public holidays are applicable as per project office schedule.
  • Medical Coverage: Contract employees must obtain a Medical Health Insurance Policy of ₹3 Lakhs for self (covering Covid-19 and other diseases) with a premium ceiling of ₹4000/- per annum. The premium amount will be reimbursed upon submission of proof.
  • Other Benefits: No other perks or benefits are admissible.

Selection Process of Senior Works Engineer/S&T in IRCON

The selection process will involve:

  1. Written Exam and/or Interview: Based on the number of applications received, selection may involve a written exam, an interview, or both for shortlisted candidates.
