Eligibility Criteria for HPSC PGT Computer Science (As per Corrigendum & NCTE Norms)

Candidates must meet the updated eligibility criteria as mandated by the Corrigendum, effective from the new closing date (02.05.2025). The age limit is determined as of the original closing date (18.07.2023).

  • Educational Qualification (Revised as per NCTE Norms):
    • Post Graduate degree with at least 50% marks (or equivalent) from a recognized University AND Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from an NCTE-recognized institution.
    • OR specific alternative qualifications based on older NCTE regulations (2002 & 2007) involving Post Graduation with 45% marks + B.Ed., or Post Graduation with 50% marks + B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. Ed., or Post Graduation with 55% marks + 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. Candidates are advised to carefully check the Corrigendum PDF for exact details on these alternative qualifications.
    • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.
    • Certificate of having qualified Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) / School Teachers Eligibility Test (STET).

Salary and Benefits for PGT in Haryana

Selected candidates for the post of PGT Computer Science will be placed in Pay Matrix Level 8, with a pay scale of ₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100 (as per FPL-8). In addition to the basic pay, selected teachers will be entitled to various allowances and benefits as per Haryana Government rules applicable from time to time. Selection Process of PGT Computer Science by HPSC

The selection process for HPSC PGT Computer Science consists of three stages:

  1. Screening Test:
    • Objective Type (MCQs).
    • Total Questions: 100.
    • Syllabus: ~80% from Computer Science, ~20% from Educational Psychology, Pedagogy, General Awareness, Mental Ability, Reasoning, Haryana GK etc..
    • Total Marks: 100.
    • Duration: 2 Hours.
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Marking Unattempted Questions: Each question has 5 options (A,B,C,D,E). Option ‘E’ must be marked if not attempting the question. Failure to mark any circle deducts 0.25 marks. Not marking any circle in more than 10% questions leads to disqualification.
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 25%.
    • Nature: Qualifying only; marks not counted for final selection. Candidates numbering four times the vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for the next stage.
  2. Subject Knowledge Test:

    • Total Marks: 150.
    • Duration: 3 Hours.

    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 35%.

How to Apply for HPSC PGT Computer Science Recruitment 2025

Eligible candidates must apply online through the official HPSC website. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the HPSC application portal.
  2. If you are a new applicant, register online first (using regn.hpsc.gov.in or through the main site) to create a login ID.
  3. Log in using your credentials and select the relevant advertisement (26/2023 for RoH or 36/2023 for Mewat).
  4. Fill out the online application form carefully with all required details.
  5. Upload necessary documents (photograph, signature, educational certificates, category certificate, HTET certificate, etc.) as specified.
  6. Pay the application fee online through the available modes.
  7. After payment, take a printout of the filled application form.
  8. Crucially, check the printout thoroughly, sign it, and then upload the scanned copy of the signed application form to complete the process.
  9. Keep a copy of the final submitted application form for future reference.

Important Note for Previous Applicants:

  • Candidates who successfully applied earlier against Advt. No. 26/2023 or 36/2023 need not apply again. Their eligibility regarding age, fees, and HTET will be based on the cut-off dates of the original advertisements. Other eligibility criteria (like educational qualification) will be assessed based on the new closing date (02.05.2025).
  • Candidates who applied earlier but failed to upload the signed application form or filled incorrect details (category, qualification etc.) must cancel their previous application and apply afresh during the new window (April 28 – May 2, 2025).

Application Fees for HPSC PGT Computer Science

The application fee varies based on category (Details usually on Page 10 of original notifications):

  • For Male candidates of General category (including Dependent Son of ESM of Haryana) & Male candidates of all reserved categories of other States: ₹1000/-
  • For all Female candidates of General category (including Female Dependent of ESM of Haryana only) & Female candidates of all reserved categories of other States: ₹250/-
  • For Male & Female candidates of SC / BC-A / BC-B / ESM / EWS categories of Haryana only: ₹250/-
  • For all Persons with Benchmark Disabilities category candidates (with at least 40% disability) of Haryana only: Nil

(Note: Fee concessions for BC-A/BC-B require a Non-Creamy Layer certificate. Fees for candidates who applied under previous ads (13/2019 by HSSC or 31/32/2022 by HPSC) might be considered as per those ads’ terms if applicable).
