Eligibility Criteria for SJVN Executive Trainees (ET)

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Civil: Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Electrical: Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
    • Mechanical: Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Human Resource: Graduate with a full-time regular two-year MBA/Post Graduate Diploma with specialization in Personnel/HR.
    • Environment: Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Environment Engineering OR a two-year Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science.
    • Geology: Full-time regular M.Sc./M. Tech. (Geology/Applied Geology/ Geophysics) with Engineering Geology as the main subject or M.Sc./ M. Tech. in Engineering Geology.
    • Information Technology: Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Information Technology.
    • Finance: CA/ICWA-CMA/Full-time regular two-year MBA with specialization in Finance.
    • Law: Full-time regular Graduate Degree in Law (3 years LLB or 5 years integrated course).
    • All degrees must be from a recognized Institute/University approved by statutory authorities like UGC/AICTE.
    • Candidates need a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) in their essential qualification. For CA/ICWA-CMA, a simple pass is sufficient. No rounding off percentages is allowed.
    • Final year students can apply, provided they submit their final mark sheet by July 31, 2025.
  • Age Limit:
    • The upper age limit for all posts is 30 years as of the closing date (May 18, 2025).

Salary and Benefits of SJVN Executive Trainee

Selected Executive Trainees will be placed in the E2 grade with a pay scale of Rs. 50,000 – 3% – 1,60,000 (IDA).

  • Allowances: In addition to the basic pay, trainees are entitled to IDA, allowances at 35% of Basic Pay (under cafeteria approach), HRA or Company Leased Accommodation, Contributory Provident Fund, Conveyance Reimbursement, Leave Encashment, and Performance Related Pay.
  • Medical Facility: Comprehensive medical facilities are provided for self and dependents.
  • Regularization: Upon successful completion of the one-year training period, trainees will be regularized as Engineer/Officer in the same pay scale with a 3% increment. Career progression follows SJVN’s promotion policy.

Selection Process of Executive Trainee in SJVN

The selection process involves multiple stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Eligible candidates must appear for a CBT. The test is 2 hours long, consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) totaling 150 marks.
    • Section 1: 120 MCQs from the relevant discipline/subject.
    • Section 2: 30 MCQs on General Ability, Logical Reasoning, Intelligence Test, etc..
    • Marking: 1 mark for each correct answer, no negative marking.
    • Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS and 40% for reserved categories.
  2. Group Discussion (GD): Candidates shortlisted based on CBT merit (ratio 1:5) will be called for GD.
  3. Personal Interview (PI): Candidates will also undergo a Personal Interview.
  4. Final Selection: The final merit list is prepared based on combined performance in CBT (75% weightage), GD (10% weightage), and PI (15% weightage). Candidates need an overall score of at least 50% (UR/EWS) or 40% (reserved) to be empanelled.
  5. Document Verification: Verification of original documents occurs during the Personal Interview & Group Discussion stage.
