IOCL Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates must ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria as of 31-05-2025.
- Educational Qualification:
- Must possess the prescribed qualification (ITI, Diploma, Graduation, Class XII) from a recognized Board/University/Institute as a regular full-time course. Part-time/correspondence/distance education modes are not eligible.
- Minimum aggregate marks: 50% for General/EWS/OBC candidates, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates in reserved seats. For ITI, Pass class is sufficient.
- Specific qualifications vary by trade (e.g., B.Sc for Attendant Operator, ITI Fitter for Fitter trade, Diploma for Technician Apprentices, Class XII/Graduate for others). Refer to the official notification for detailed trade-wise qualifications.
- Candidates with higher professional qualifications (like BE/B.Tech, MBA, MCA etc.) are not eligible.
- Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible.

IOCL Apprentice Salary (Stipend) & Benefits
- Stipend: Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended), and IOCL guidelines. The exact amount is not specified in the notification but adheres to statutory norms.

IOCL Apprentice Selection Process 2025
The selection process will not involve a written test. Selection will be based on merit:

- Tie-Breaker: If marks are tied, preference is given to the older candidate based on Date of Birth. If the DOB is also the same, candidates with higher marks in Matriculation (Class X) will rank higher.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on merit will be called for Document Verification. Original documents must be produced.
- Pre-Engagement Medical Examination: Candidates found eligible after Document Verification must undergo and clear a pre-engagement medical examination as per IOCL standards and the Apprentices Act.
Note: Engagement as an apprentice does not guarantee future employment with IOCL.
How to Apply for IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2025
Candidates must apply online through a two-step process between May 3, 2025, and June 2, 2025:
STEP I: Registration & Application on NAPS/NATS Portal
- For Trade Apprentices (Codes 101, 102, 103, 108, 109, 110, 111): Register on the NAPS portal. Search for IOCL opportunities by location and apply for the relevant trade.
- For Technician Apprentices (Codes 104, 105, 106, 107): Register on the NATS portal. Apply for the IOCL advertisement notified on your NATS dashboard.
- Ensure your profile on NAPS/NATS is 100% complete and accurate before applying. Use the correct Establishment ID for the chosen Refinery Unit.
STEP II: Application on IOCL Recruitment Portal
- After successfully applying on NAPS/NATS, candidates must complete their application on the IOCL Refineries Division portal.
- Select the desired Refinery Unit and Trade/Discipline.
- Upload scanned copies of your colour photograph and signature (jpg format, max 50 KB each).
- Use the same valid email ID and mobile number as used for NAPS/NATS registration.
- Final submit the application and retain a copy for future reference.
Important: Completing both Step I and Step II is mandatory. Incomplete or incorrectly submitted applications will be rejected.
