Indian Army TES 54 Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
Aspiring candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:
- Educational Qualification:
- Passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized education board.
- The eligibility condition for calculating PCM percentage will be based on marks obtained in Class XII only.
- Must have appeared in JEE (Mains) 2025.
- Age Limit:
- A candidate must be between 16 ½ years and 19 ½ years on the first day of the month in which the course is due to commence (01 January 2026).
- This means the candidate should not be born before July 02, 2006, and not after July 01, 2009 (both days inclusive).
- Only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination certificate will be accepted.
- Nationality:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Candidates belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India (except for Gorkha subjects of Nepal).
- Marital Status: Unmarried male candidates only. Candidates must undertake not to marry until they complete their full training.

Indian Army TES 54 Salary and Benefits: Emoluments and Perks
Selected candidates will receive a handsome salary package and various allowances:
- Stipend during Training: ₹56,100/- per month (during training at IMA after completion of 3 years, as admissible to NDA cadets).
- Rank on Commissioning: Lieutenant.
- Salary on Commissioning (Approx. CTC): ₹17-18 Lakh per annum (Level 10 in the Pay Matrix), excluding free medical cover & travel to hometown once a year.
- Pay Scale (Lieutenant): Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500).
- Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500/- per month (fixed for officers from Lieutenant to Brigadier).
- Allowances: Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance (subsumed into Dress Allowance of ₹25,000/- per year), Risk and Hardship Allowance, Uniform Allowance (subsumed into Dress Allowance), Ration in Kind, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Hostel Subsidy, and others as applicable.
Indian Army TES 54 Selection Process: Path to Commission
The selection procedure involves multiple stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications: The Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) will shortlist applications based on the JEE (Mains) CRL Rank. Cut-off criteria will be decided by the Army without assigning any reason.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a Services Selection Board (SSB) interview at one of the selection centers (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar). The SSB is a two-stage process conducted over five days.
- Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates who clear Stage I will proceed to Stage II.
- Stage II: Comprises Psychology Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, and an Interview.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended after Stage II of the SSB will undergo a medical examination at a Military Hospital.
- Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based only on the marks obtained by the candidates in the SSB interview.
- Joining Letter: Joining letters for training will be issued to medically fit candidates in order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies.

Follow these steps to submit your application online:
- Visit the official website of the Indian Army.
- Click on the ‘online application’ button.
- Enter your particulars in the online application form. Carefully read the terms and conditions before submission.
- Candidates can make changes to the data until the closing of online applications, ensuring to ‘submit’ the application each time it’s edited. No changes are allowed after the closing date.
- After successful submission, a confirmation dialog box will appear. A printout of the application with a Roll Number will be available 30 minutes after the closing of online applications.
- Print two copies of the application with the system-generated Roll Number.
- Carry one self-attested copy of the application to the selection center for the SSB interview, along with original documents (Class 10th certificate & mark sheet for DOB proof, Class 12th certificate & mark sheet, ID proof, and copy of JEE (Mains) 2025 result).
- The second copy is for the candidate’s reference. No hard copy needs to be sent to the Directorate General of Recruiting.
- Carry 20 copies of self-attested passport-size photographs for the SSB interview.
- Submit only one application. Multiple applications from the same candidate will lead to cancellation.
