ISRO VSSC Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure they possess the required qualifications as of the last date of application, which is June 16, 2025. 

Educational Qualifications:

  • For Technician-B (All Disciplines – Post Codes 1531 to 1541):
    • SSLC/SSC/10th Class Pass. 
    • ITI/NTC/NAC in the respective trade (e.g., Fitter, Electronic Mechanic, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Electroplater, Welder, Mechanic Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanic Motor Vehicle/Mechanic Diesel, Photographer, Carpenter). 
  • For Draughtsman-B (Mechanical – Post Code 1542):
    • SSLC/SSC/10th Class Pass. 
    • ITI/NTC/NAC in Draughtsman (Mechanical) Trade. 
  • For Pharmacist-A (Post Code 1543):
    • SSLC/SSC/10th Class Pass. 
    • First Class Diploma in Pharmacy. 

Age Limit (as on 16.06.2025):

  • Technician-B (Post Codes 1531 to 1541): 18 to 35 years. 
  • Draughtsman-B (Mechanical – Post Code 1542): 18 to 35 years.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST Category: 05 years relaxation for posts reserved for these categories.

ISRO VSSC Salary and Benefits

ISRO VSSC Selection Process 2025

The selection process for all posts will comprise two stages:

  1. Written Test:
    • The test will consist of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). 
    • The syllabus will be curriculum-based. 
    • Duration of the test: 90 minutes. 
    • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer. 
    • Negative Marking: 0.33 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. 
    • Pass Criteria for Written Test:
      • UR & EWS Category: Minimum 32 out of 80 marks. 
      • Other Reserved Categories: Minimum 24 out of 80 marks (only for vacancies reserved for them). 
  2. Skill Test:
    • Candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test based on their performance in the Written Test, in the ratio of 1:5 (with a minimum of 10 candidates). 
    • The Skill Test will be of a qualifying nature only. 
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks for Skill Test:
      • UR Candidates: 50 out of 100 marks. 
      • Reserved Categories: 40 out of 100 marks. 

Final Empanelment:

  • From among the candidates who qualify in the skill test, empanelment will be done in the order of marks obtained in the written test. 
  • In case of a tie in written scores, the academic scores of the notified qualification shall be the tie-breaker.

Step-by-Step Guide to Apply Online:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the VSSC website
  2. Find the Recruitment Link: Look for the relevant advertisement (No. VSSC-334) and the link for online application. Online applications will be received from 10:00 hours on June 2, 2025, to 17:00 hours on June 16, 2025. 
  3. NCS Portal Candidates: Candidates registered under the National Career Service (NCS) portal fulfilling eligibility conditions can also visit the ISRO website and follow the application procedure. 
  4. Online Registration: Register by providing the necessary details. Upon online registration, an online Registration Number will be provided, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. 
  5. Fill the Application Form: Complete the online application form with accurate details regarding educational qualifications, personal information, etc.
  6. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of required documents, including:
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (valid as on 16.06.2025) and self-declaration (Annexure-I & II) for OBC candidates. Certificates obtained after 16.06.2025 will not be considered for reservation. 
    • Income and Asset Certificate (valid for FY 2025-2026, with family income for FY 2024-25) for EWS candidates (Annexure-III). 
    • SC/ST Certificate (valid as on 16.06.2025, Annexure-IV) for SC/ST candidates (to be submitted at the time of skill test, but relevant details need to be filled in the application). 
    • Certificate of Physical Disability for PwBD candidates. 
    • Relevant certificate for Ex-servicemen. 
  7. Pay Application Fee: Pay the application fee online. (Details below)
  8. Submit Application: Review the filled application form and submit it.
  9. Print Application: Take a printout of the online application for future reference. Applicants need not send any documents by post. 

ISRO VSSC Application Fees

  • Initial Payment: All applicants must uniformly pay ₹500/- per application. 
  • Refund Policy:
    • Female / Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Ex-servicemen (EX-SM) / Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates: Full fee will be refunded if they appear in the written test. These candidates need to upload their relevant certificates (SC/ST certificate, Discharge certificate for Ex-servicemen, Disability certificate for PwBD) to claim the refund. 
    • Other Candidates: An amount of ₹400 will be refunded after deducting bank charges, provided they appear in the written test. 
  • Mode of Payment: Online through Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking / UPI only via Integrated SBI ePay facility. No other mode is acceptable. 
  • Service charges for payment shall be borne by the applicant. 
  • The application fee paid by candidates whose application is incomplete, not submitted, or rejected will not be refunded. 
  • Applicants must correctly furnish bank details (Account No., IFS Code, Bank Name, Branch Name, Account Holder Name) for the refund. VSSC is not responsible for refund issues due to incorrect bank details.

Candidates are required to choose 03 cities in order of preference from the list below. Allotment is subject to administrative exigencies. VSSC reserves the right to prune the list or allot Thiruvananthapuram if opted cities are not feasible.
