Candidates must meet the specified eligibility criteria regarding educational qualifications, age limit, and experience.

Educational Qualifications & Age Limit (Freshers – Max Age as of June 30, 2025)

  • Executive Assistant: Minimum 3-year full-time regular graduation in any discipline. Max Age: 25 years. 
  • Junior Executive – Civil: 3-years full-time Regular Diploma in Civil Engineering. Max Age: 25 years. 
  • Junior Executive – Mechanical: 3-years full-time Regular Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Max Age: 25 years. 
  • Junior Executive – Quality Control: 3-year full-time regular graduation in Chemistry (B.Sc. Chemistry). Max Age: 25 years. 
  • Mechanical Engineer: 4-year full-time regular engineering course in Mechanical Engineering or allied branches. Max Age: 25 years. 
  • Electrical Engineer: 4-year full-time regular engineering course in Electrical Engineering or allied branches. Max Age: 25 years. 
  • Civil Engineer: 4-year full-time regular engineering course in Civil Engineering or allied branches. Max Age: 25 years.

  • Chartered Accountant: Minimum 50% in CA Final Exam (Group I & II). 
  • All other positions: Minimum 65% for UR/OBCNC/EWS and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates in qualifying degree/diploma.

HPCL Officer Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates will be inducted at the minimum of the pay scale. The Cost to Company (CTC) includes Base Pay, Retirement Benefits, Dearness Allowance, HRA, Cafeteria Allowance, and Performance Related Pay.

Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Remuneration:

  • IS Officer: Rs 15 Lakhs per annum. 
  • IS Security Officer- Cyber Security Specialist: Rs 36 Lakhs per annum. 

Other Benefits:

  • Retirement benefits are admissible as per Corporation policy. 
  • CTC may vary for non-metro locations. 
  • Probation period for selected officers is one year. 

Service Bond and Retention Amount:

Selected candidates will have to execute a service bond (e.g., Rs 3,00,000 for General category in certain pay scales, Rs 50,000 for EWS/OBC(NC)/SC/ST/PwBD in those scales). A retention amount (e.g., Rs 5,000/- or Rs 8,000/- per month based on pay scale) will be deducted for the first 12 months and released after 3 years without interest. 

HPCL Selection Process 2025

The selection process for HPCL recruitment may include several stages depending on the position:

  1. Shortlisting: Based on application details.
  2. Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Test / NET Score / Typing Test:
    • CBT (wherever applicable) will have objective questions (and subjective for Law Officers). 
    • It will consist of two parts:
      • General Aptitude: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Intellectual Potential Test (Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation). 
      • Technical/Professional Knowledge: Questions related to the qualifying degree/educational background for the applied position. 
  3. Document Upload & Scrutiny: Candidates qualifying CBT will be asked to upload supporting documents. 
  4. Group Task / Group Discussion: For shortlisted candidates. 
  5. Personal Interview: For shortlisted candidates. 
  6. Moot Court: Only for Law Officer positions. 
  7. Psychometric Assessment: May be conducted. 
  8. Skill Test: Depending upon position requirement. 
  9. Physical Fitness Efficiency Test (PFET): For positions like Junior Executive – Civil and Junior Executive – Mechanical (comprising Working at Height Test, Endurance Test, and Agility Test). 
  10. Pre-Employment Medical Exam: Mandatory for all selected candidates. 

Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in each stage (CBT, Group Task, Personal Interview as applicable). The final merit list will be drawn based on performance in all applicable stages, work experience (wherever applicable).

  • UR, OBCNC, and EWS Candidates: Required to pay a Non-Refundable Amount of ₹1180/- (Application fee of ₹1000/- + GST@18% i.e. ₹180/-) + payment gateway charges if applicable.
