Eligibility Criteria for BMRCL Graduate Engineer

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Graduate Engineer (Civil) position:

  • Educational Qualification: Must possess a BE / B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from an Institute/Organisation recognized by AICTE. Candidates need to have secured a First Class, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks across all years/semesters of the degree course.
  • GATE Score: A valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score with a minimum of 60 percentile as of the notification date (April 5, 2025) is mandatory. Candidates must provide their GATE hall ticket number and score during the application process.
  • Age Limit: The maximum age limit for applicants is 35 years as of the notification date. Date of Birth as per Matriculation/High School certificate will be considered final.

Salary and Benefits for Graduate Engineer

Selected candidates appointed as Graduate Engineers (Civil) will receive the following compensation package:

  • Consolidated Pay: Rs. 44,000/- per month.
  • Allowances & Perks: Includes Conveyance allowances, Group Medical Coverage (GMC), Group Personal Accident policy (GPA), National Pension System (NPS) contributions, and other applicable allowances and benefits as per the prevailing rules of BMRCL.
  • Contract Period: The initial appointment will be for a period of 3 years on a contract basis. This tenure is extendable based on the candidate’s performance and the ongoing requirements of BMRCL. The contract can be terminated by either party with 3 months’ notice or payment in lieu.

BMRCL Selection Process

The selection procedure for the Graduate Engineer (Civil) post involves the following stages:

  1. GATE Score Merit: Selection will be primarily based on the merit of the valid GATE score submitted by the candidate.
  2. Tie-Breaker: If multiple candidates have the same GATE score, their aggregate percentage marks in the BE/B.Tech Civil Engineering degree will be used to determine merit ranking.
  3. Document Verification & Interview: Shortlisted candidates, based on GATE scores (and degree marks in case of a tie), will be called for verification of original documents and a personal interview. Candidates must attend this stage at their own expense.
