Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Stenographer (Higher Grade):
    • Degree from a recognized University
    • English Shorthand speed: 100 w.p.m.
    • English Typing speed: 40 w.p.m.
    • Computer Proficiency Certificate (MS-CIT or equivalent).
  • Stenographer (Lower Grade):
    • Degree from a recognized University
    • English Shorthand speed: 80 w.p.m.
    • English Typing speed: 40 w.p.m.
    • Computer Proficiency Certificate.
  • Clerk:
    • Degree from a recognized University
    • English Typing speed: 40 w.p.m.
    • Computer Proficiency Certificate (MS-CIT or equivalent).
  • Peon / Hamal:
    • Minimum 7th Standard Pass.
    • Good physique and good character.
  • Driver:
    • 10th Standard (SSC) Pass.
    • Valid LMV Driving License.
    • 3 Years of driving experience.
    • Clean driving record and knowledge of minor vehicle repairs.

  • General (Open):
    • Peon & Clerk: 18 to 38 Years
    • Steno & Driver: 21 to 38 Years

Salary and Benefits

The selected candidates will be paid as per the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix.

  • Stenographer (Higher Grade): Pay Level S-20 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500)
  • Stenographer (Lower Grade): Pay Level S-18 (₹49,100 – ₹1,55,800)
  • Clerk: Pay Level S-10 (₹29,200 – ₹92,300)
  • Driver: Pay Level S-10 (₹29,200 – ₹92,300)
  • Peon / Hamal: Pay Level S-3 (₹16,600 – ₹52,400)

Note: In addition to Basic Pay, employees are entitled to DA, HRA, TA, and other government allowances.

Selection Process Explained

The selection procedure varies by post as detailed below:

  • For Clerk:
    1. Screening Test (90 Marks): Objective test on Marathi, English, GK, Intelligence, Arithmetic, Computer.
    2. English Typing Test (20 Marks): 400 words in 10 minutes.
    3. Viva-Voce (40 Marks).
  • For Stenographer:
    1. Shorthand Test (40 Marks): Dictation & Transcription.
    2. Typing Test (40 Marks).
    3. Viva-Voce (20 Marks).
  • For Peon / Hamal:
    1. Written Exam (30 Marks).
    2. Physical Capability & Special Qualification Test (10 Marks).
    3. Viva-Voce (10 Marks).
  • For Driver:
    1. Written Test (20 Marks).
    2. Driving Experience (10 Marks).
    3. Motor Vehicle / Driving Skill Test (10 Marks).
    4. Viva-Voce (10 Marks).

How to Apply Online: Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Visit Official Website: Go to bombayhighcourt.nic.in.
  2. Pay Application Fee: Click on the “SBI Collect” link to pay the fee of ₹1,000/- first. You will get an alphanumeric Reference Number.
  3. Fill Application Form: Click on “Apply Online” for your desired post. Enter the SBI Collect Reference Number to proceed.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload scanned Passport size photo (Max 40KB) and Signature (Max 40KB).
  5. Submit & Print: Verify all details, submit the form, and take a printout. Do not send the hard copy to the High Court now; keep it for document verification.
