Eligibility Criteria for JKSSB Posts

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for these positions:

  • Domicile: Must be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on or before the application closing date (June 6, 2025).
  • Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025):
    • Open Merit (OM): Max 40 years (Not born before 01.01.1985)
    • SC/ST/RBA/ALC/IB/EWS/OBC: Max 43 years (Not born before 01.01.1982)
    • Physically Challenged Person (PwD): Max 42 years (Not born before 01.01.1983)
    • Government Service/Contractual Employment: Max 40 years (Not born before 01.01.1985)
    • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Max 48 years (Not born before 01.01.1977) (Candidates must not be born after 01.01.2007 for all categories)
  • Educational Qualification & Experience (as on 06.06.2025): Varies by post. Key qualifications include:
    • Gardener: Middle Pass + 7 years experience in floriculture (certified by Floriculture Dept.).
    • Farash/Masalchi/Khansama-III: Matric pass + 2 years experience from a recognized catering institute/Hotel.
    • Traffic Orderly/Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): Minimum Matric and maximum 10+2.
    • Dhobi: Matric pass and Dhobi by profession (professional certificate from Tehsildar required).
    • Driver-II: Minimum Matric and maximum 10+2 with a valid HGV/PSV driving license.
    • Website Operator: Graduation from a recognized university, typing speed of 35 wpm, and a six-month certificate course in computer application from a recognized institute.

Salary and Benefits

Selected candidates will be appointed as per extant government rules and regulations. The pay scales for the advertised posts are as follows:

  • Level-SL1 (₹14,800 – ₹47,100): Gardener, Farash, Traffic Orderly, Multi Tasking Staff (MTS), Masalchi, Khansama-III.
  • Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200): Dhobi, Driver-II, Website Operator.

Other allowances and benefits will be applicable as per the rules governing service conditions in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

JKSSB Selection Process 2025

The selection process for these posts will primarily involve the following stages:

  1. Written Examination:
    • Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
    • Questions set in English only.
    • Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Selection based on merit obtained in the written/OMR examination for most posts.
  2. Skill Test (where applicable):
    • Driver-II: Candidates must qualify a Driving Test to be eligible for the written examination.
    • Website Operator: Skill Test (Typing) carries 20 points, and the Written Examination carries 80 points. Marks from the type test will be proportionately allotted against the 20 points.
  3. Document Verification (DV):
    • Candidates shortlisted based on merit in the written exam/skill test will be called for DV.
    • Original documents (Domicile, Qualification, Category, Age proof, etc.) valid as of the cut-off date must be produced. Failure to appear or produce documents will lead to cancellation of candidature.

The final selection list will be prepared based on merit and preference, subject to successful document verification.
