Eligibility Criteria for KGMU Nursing Officer

Candidates must meet the following essential eligibility criteria by the last date of application submission (May 14, 2025):

Educational Qualification:

  • (Option 1):
    • B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute or University OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute or University.
    • Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council.
  • (Option 2):
    • Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute/Board or Council.
    • Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council.
    • Two years’ experience in a minimum 50-bedded Hospital after acquiring the educational qualification mentioned above.

Salary & Benefits of Nursing Officer in KGMU

Selected candidates will be appointed as Nursing Officers at Level-7 in the pay matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). In addition to the basic pay, appointees will be entitled to allowances and benefits as admissible under KGMU and Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

Selection Process of Nursing Officers in KGMU

The selection process for the KGMU Nursing Officer post involves the following stages:

  1. Common Recruitment Test (CRT): All provisionally eligible candidates will appear for a CRT.
    • Duration: 2 hours 
    • Total Marks: 100 
    • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) 
    • Language: English and Hindi 
    • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Pen-and-Paper (to be communicated later) 
    • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for a correct answer, -1/3 mark for an incorrect answer.
    • Syllabus Distribution:
      • Subject Knowledge (Nursing): 60 marks
      • General English: 10 marks
      • General Knowledge: 10 marks

      • Mathematical Aptitude: 10 marks
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% for General/EWS/OBC and 45% for SC/ST.

  2. Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based solely on the marks obtained in the CRT for each category separately. There will be no interview.
