Eligibility Criteria for APSC JE (Civil) Fishery Dept.

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Nationality & Residency: Must be an Indian Citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. Proof of residency (PRC for educational purposes or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate) is required.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Must possess a 3-year regular Diploma in Civil Engineering / Civil Engineering & Planning / Construction Technology from an AICTE-recognized technical institute.
    • Diploma obtained through distance mode is not eligible.
    • Candidates must upload all semester/year mark sheets and the final pass certificate.
  • Age Limit (as of 01-01-2025):
    • Minimum Age: 18 years 
    • Maximum Age: 40 years 
  • Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable as follows:
    • SC/ST: 5 years (up to 45 years) 
    • OBC/MOBC: 3 years (up to 43 years) 
    • Ex-Servicemen: Maximum age 42 years (Unreserved), with further relaxation of 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST.
    • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): 10 years irrespective of category.
  • Small Family Norms: Candidates must submit a declaration as per “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A.

Selected candidates will be placed in the following pay scale along with usual allowances as admissible under the rules of the Government of Assam:

  • Pay Scale: Rs. 14,000/- to 70,000/- 
  • Grade Pay: Rs. 8,700/- 
  • Pay Band: Pay Band – 2 

Selection Process for APSC JE (Fishery Department)

The Commission reserves the right to decide the selection method based on the number of applications received, which may include:

  • Screening Examination / Written Test
  • Interview Test / Viva-Voce 
  • Document Verification 

The Commission may also decide to conduct the examination/test zone-wise depending on the number of candidates.

  3. Login: Log in using your credentials.
  4. Apply: Go to the ‘Applicant Section’ => ‘Apply Section’.
  5. Select Advertisement: Find the advertisement for Junior Engineer (Civil) under the Fishery Department (Advt. No. 17/2025) and click ‘Apply’.
