âś… Eligibility Criteria for Gujarat High Court Driver
Candidates must ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria as of the last date of online application:
- Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed 12th standard (HSC) or equivalent examination from a government-recognized board.Â
- Must possess basic knowledge of computers as prescribed by the Government of Gujarat.Â
- Should have adequate knowledge of English, Gujarati, and Hindi languages.Â
- Driving License & Skills:
- Must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and/or Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license that is at least 3 years old at the time of application.Â
- Must be familiar with traffic signs, signals, hand signals, and possess basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.Â
- Preference will be given to candidates with proficiency in vehicle repair and mechanics.Â

- Male Candidates:
- Height: 162 cm (158 cm for ST candidates).Â
- Chest: Not less than 84 cm after 5 cm expansion.Â

- Height: 158 cm (155 cm for ST candidates).Â
- Vision:Â Must have clear and healthy vision, with or without glasses. Candidates should not suffer from night blindness, color blindness, squint eyes, glaucoma, or any other eye defects, including having only one functional eye.Â

- Candidates should have approximately 5 years of driving experience in a government/private institution or with an individual.Â

đź’° Salary & Benefits: Gujarat High Court Driver Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed with a pay scale of Rs. 19,900 – Rs. 63,200/- as per the 7th Pay Commission. Other allowances and perks will be applicable as per prevailing government rules.
📝 Selection Process: How You’ll Be Selected
The selection process for the Gujarat High Court Driver position will consist of the following stages:
- Objective Type Written Examination (Computer Based Test – CBT):
- Total Marks: 50Â
- Number of Questions: 50 (Objective Type, 1 mark each)Â
- Duration: 45 minutesÂ
- Language: GujaratiÂ
- Negative Marking: 0.33 marks for each wrong answer or multiple selected answers.Â
- Syllabus:
- Gujarati Language
- General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Geography of Gujarat
- Basic Mathematics
- Basic knowledge of Vehicles/Motors
- Basic knowledge of Motor Vehicle Laws
- Traffic Rules
- Qualifying Marks:Â Minimum 45% for reserved categories (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen) and 50% for other candidates.Â
- The examination may be conducted in Ahmedabad or other district headquarters depending on the number of candidates. Candidates will have to appear at their own expense.Â
- There will be no re-checking/re-assessment of the CBT answer sheets.Â
- If a large number of candidates qualify, the High Court may shortlist a limited number for the next stage based on merit.Â
- Driving / Skill Test:

- The test will be conducted as per the standards set by the High Court and will assess skills such as:Â

- Candidates must score a minimum of 80 marks (‘A’ Grade) in the Driving/Skill Test to be considered for the selection list.Â

The final selection list and centralized waiting list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in both the Written Examination and the Driving Test, on a merit basis. The waiting list will be for 10% of the total advertised vacancies.
