BEL Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must carefully review the eligibility criteria regarding educational qualifications, age limit, and experience to ensure they qualify for the desired post. The cut-off date for determining age and post-qualification experience is June 1, 2025.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a full-time B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering (4-year course) from a recognized institute or university with a ‘Pass’ class.
- For Project Engineer (Electronics): The degree must be in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunications, Communication, or Telecommunication.
- For Project Engineer (Mechanical) & Trainee Engineer (Mechanical): The degree must be in Mechanical Engineering.
- Note: Part-time or correspondence course qualifications are not eligible.
Age Limit (as on June 1, 2025)
- Project Engineer (Electronics):
- UR/EWS: 32 years
- OBC: 35 years
- ST: 37 years
- Project Engineer (Mechanical):
- ST: 37 years
- Trainee Engineer (Mechanical):
- ST: 33 years
- Age Relaxation: Candidates belonging to the PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) category with a minimum of 40% disability will receive a 10-year relaxation in the upper age limit, in addition to any other applicable relaxations.
Post-Qualification Experience (as on June 1, 2025)
- For Project Engineer-I: A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification relevant industry experience is mandatory.
- Preferred Experience (Electronics): PCB testing and troubleshooting, working with VDSP & Quartus/Xilinx software, hardware testing using oscilloscopes/multimeters, and knowledge of Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) tests.
- Preferred Experience (Mechanical): Inspection, assembly, and testing of high-precision devices; handling high-pressure pneumatic systems; experience with workshop machinery, manufacturing processes, and BOM generation.
- For Trainee Engineer-I: No prior experience is required. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Note: Academic/teaching experience, research work, and internships part of the academic curriculum will not be considered as experience. However, a one-year completed apprenticeship will be counted as experience.

BEL Engineer Salary and Benefits (2025)
BEL offers an attractive consolidated remuneration package for its engineers, which increases with each year of service.
Remuneration Details
- Project Engineer-I:
- 1st Year: ₹40,000/- per month
- 2nd Year: ₹45,000/- per month
- 3rd Year: ₹50,000/- per month
- 4th Year: ₹55,000/- per month
- Trainee Engineer-I:
- 1st Year: ₹30,000/- per month
- 2nd Year: ₹35,000/- per month
- 3rd Year: ₹40,000/- per month
Additional Allowances and Perks
- Annual Allowance: An additional consolidated amount of ₹12,000/- per year is provided to cover expenses like medical insurance, attire allowance, footwear, etc.
- Area Allowance: A 10% of the consolidated remuneration will be paid as an area allowance if posted to a location outside Machilipatnam where BEL does not have a unit.
- Retention Bonus: Project Engineers who complete their 4-year tenure will be entitled to a retention bonus of ₹1,00,000/-.
BEL Recruitment Selection Process 2025
The selection process is designed to be efficient and will be conducted through a walk-in procedure for pre-registered candidates.
- Written Test: All candidates who pre-register and meet the eligibility criteria must appear for a written test.
- Project Engineer: The test will be for 85 marks.
- Trainee Engineer: The test will be for 100 marks.
- The duration for both tests is 90 minutes. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
- Personal Interview (For Project Engineer Only): Candidates who qualify in the written test for the Project Engineer post will be shortlisted for a personal interview in a 1:5 ratio based on merit.
- Document Verification: All candidates appearing for the walk-in must bring their original documents for verification.
