Eligibility Criteria for NIELIT Scientific Assistant

      • PwBD: 10 years (15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC).
      • Ex-servicemen: As per government rules.

NIELIT Scientific Assistant Selection Process

The selection process for the Scientific Assistant post involves the following stages:

  1. Written Examination:
    • Objective Type (OMR Based).
    • Duration: 3 hours.
    • Total Questions: 120.
    • Structure: 65% Technical Area (stream-specific) & 35% Generic Area.
    • Marking: 1 mark per correct answer; Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
    • Generic Area Syllabus: Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative & Qualitative Abilities, General Awareness & Aptitude.
    • Stream-wise syllabus available at: recruit-delhi.nielit.gov.in.
    • Qualifying Cut-off:
      • General/EWS: 50%.
      • OBC: 40%.
      • SC/ST/PwBD: 30%.
      • Cut-off applies overall and to each section (Technical/Generic) separately.
  2. Merit List: Prepared based only on Written Test marks, stream-wise (EC/CS/IT). A common merit list will be prepared for PwBD candidates. Tie-breaking based on Date of Birth (older candidates ranked higher).
  3. Document Verification: Before joining.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test.

    • PwBD Certificate, if applicable.
  7. Pay the application fee online.
