BHEL Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the BHEL Apprentice Recruitment 2025:
Educational Qualification & Passing Years
- Graduate Apprentices:
- Must have passed 10+2 and hold a Graduation degree in Engineering/Technology as a regular full-time candidate from a Government recognized Institution/University.
- Minimum 60% marks for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates should have passed their qualifying examination in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024.
- Degrees obtained through Distance Learning/Part-Time/Correspondence/Sandwich courses are noteligible.
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
- Must have passed High School (10th) and hold a Diploma in Engineering as a regular full-time candidate from a Government recognized institute.
- Minimum 60% marks for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates should have passed their qualifying examination in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024.
- Diplomas obtained through Distance Learning/Part-Time/Correspondence/Sandwich courses are noteligible.
- Trade Apprentices:
- Must have passed High School (10th) and possess an ITI certificate as a Regular Full-Time candidate from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institute.
- For the Welder trade, only an NCVT certificate will be considered.
- ITI courses completed through Distance Learning/Part-Time/Correspondence/Sandwich modes are not eligible.
Age Limit (as on 01/05/2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years.
- Maximum Age: 27 years for General candidates.
- Age Relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates.
- 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with a minimum of 40% disability.
Other Important Criteria
- Previous Training/Experience:
- Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973 / Apprentices Act 1961 in any other establishment are not eligible to apply.
- For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, students with work experience of one year or more are not eligible.
- Students who have completed a Post Graduate qualification are not eligible for Graduate Apprenticeship training.
- Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the minimum physical fitness standards as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and relevant rules.

- Important Note: Upon completion of the apprenticeship period, BHEL has no obligation to offer employment to apprentices, nor can apprentices claim any right to employment.
BHEL Apprentice Selection Process 2025
The selection of candidates will be carried out through the following stages:
- Fulfillment of Notification Conditions: Candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification.
- Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in their qualifying examinations (Degree/Diploma/ITI).
- Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie in marks at the selection stage, the candidate older in age will be given preference.
- Document Verification (Walk-in): Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Candidates should report to the Human Resource Development Centre, BHEL – Trichy for the walk-in process as per the schedule.

Step 1: Registration on Government Portals
- For Graduate and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:

- For Trade Apprentices:
- Register on the RDSDE (NAPS) Portal: www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.

Step 2: Online Application on BHEL Trichy Portal

- Click on the “Register” link from the menu.
