BPCL Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure they meet the essential educational qualifications and work experience for the respective posts as of 1st May 2025. 

Junior Executive (Engineering)

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Diploma in Engineering (3-year course) in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics / Civil / Chemical Engineering from a recognized University. 
    • Minimum 60% aggregate percentage (or equivalent CGPA), relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. 
    • Eligible Core Disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical (including Electrical & Electronics), Instrumentation (including Instrumentation & Control, Instrumentation & Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation), Electronics, Civil, Chemical. No allied disciplines are allowed. 
  • Work Experience (as on 01.05.2025):
    • Minimum 5 years of continuous post-qualification relevant work experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role. 
    • Experience must be in specific roles within Petroleum Oil & Gas organizations, Petrochemical/manufacturing plants, fertilizer organizations, or capital goods manufacturing organizations within India. (Refer to the official notification for detailed experience requirements). 
    • The candidate must currently be employed in a managerial/supervisory role in the specified industries. A gap of up to 3 months in work experience is permissible. 
  • Upper Age Limit (as on 01.05.2025):
    • 32 years for General and EWS candidates. 
    • Age relaxations are applicable for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen as per Presidential Directives. Cumulative age relaxation is limited to a maximum of 10 years. 

Associate Executive (Engineering)

  • Educational Qualification:
    • B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc (Engg) (4-year course) in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics / Civil / Chemical Engineering from a recognized University. 
    • Minimum 60% aggregate percentage (or equivalent CGPA), relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. 
    • Eligible Core Disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical (including Electrical & Electronics), Instrumentation (including Instrumentation & Control, Instrumentation & Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation), Electronics, Civil, Chemical. No allied disciplines allowed. 
  • Work Experience (as on 01.05.2025):
    • Minimum 3 years of continuous post-qualification relevant work experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role. 
    • Experience must be in specific roles within Petroleum Oil & Gas organizations, Petrochemical/manufacturing plants, fertilizer organizations, or capital goods manufacturing organizations within India. (Refer to the official notification for detailed experience requirements).

Junior Executive (Accounts)

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxed to 50% for SC/ST and PwBD categories). 
    • Must have passed the CA Intermediate / CMA Intermediate from CA/ CMA institute respectively. 
    • Candidates who have passed the final examination from CA/CMA institute are NOT eligible. 
  • Work Experience (as on 01.05.2025):
    • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience in the finance function. 
    • Relevant fields include Finance/ Accounts/ Taxation/ Cost Accounting/ Auditing etc. 
    • Experience obtained after the declaration of CA(Inter) / CMA(Inter) results will only be considered. Articleship/practical training will not be considered valid experience. 
  • Age Limit (as on 01.05.2025):
    • Minimum Age: 30 years. 
    • Upper Age Limit: 35 years for General and EWS candidates. 
    • Age relaxations are applicable as per Presidential Directives. Cumulative relaxation up to 10 years. No relaxation in the minimum age limit. 

Associate Executive (Quality Assurance)

  • Educational Qualification:
    • M.Sc (Chemistry) with specialization in Organic / Physical / Inorganic / Analytical chemistry from a recognized University. 
    • Minimum 60% aggregate percentage (or equivalent CGPA), relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PwD categories. 
    • No allied disciplines other than those explicitly mentioned are allowed. 
  • Work Experience (as on 01.05.2025):
    • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification relevant work experience in a laboratory in the Petroleum/ Oil & Gas/ Petro-Chemical Industry. 
  • Desired Skills:
    • Deep understanding and working knowledge of Testing and capability in front-line maintenance of Test equipment. 
    • Work Experience in ISO/IEC 17025:2017/ NABL accredited Laboratory and knowledge of relevant documentation. 
    • Hands-on experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). 
  • Upper Age Limit (as on 01.05.2025):
    • 32 years for General and EWS candidates. 
    • Age relaxations applicable as per Presidential Directives, with cumulative relaxation up to 10 years. 

Secretary BPCL

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor’s degree (3-year course) with a minimum of 60% marks (relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PWD categories) from a recognized university. 
    • AND Class XII with a minimum of 60% marks (relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PWD categories) from a recognized institute. 
    • AND Class X with a minimum of 60% marks (relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PWD categories) from a recognized institute. 
    • A Diploma/Certification in Admin Secretarial & PA/ Executive Assistant / Secretarial Practice/ Office Management of at least 6 months duration is desirable. 
  • Work Experience (as on 01.05.2025):
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience as Secretarial Assistant / Secretary, or similar roles. 
    • Applicants must submit a comprehensive experience summary on their organization’s letterhead. 
  • Desired Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.

BPCL Selection Process 2025

The selection methodology at BPCL is a multi-stage process designed to identify the best talent:

BPCL Application Fees

  • SC, ST & PwBD candidates: Exempted from payment of application fee. 
  • UR, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates: Required to pay a Non-Refundable Amount of ₹1180/-(Application fee of ₹1000/- + GST@18% i.e. ₹180/-) + payment gateway charges, if any. 
  • Payment Mode: Debit/Credit card/UPI/Net Banking. Ensure payment status is “Completed”. 
  • Application fee once paid will not be refunded. 

Reservations, Concessions, and Relaxations

  • Reservations for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwBD (degree of disability 40% or above) are as per Government/Presidential Directives. 
  • Maximum age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC & ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 10 years for PwBD candidates. 
  • Maximum age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for Ex-servicemen & Commissioned Officers (including ECOs/SSCOs) with minimum 5 years’ service in Armed Forces. 
  • Cumulative relaxation in age for one or more categories is limited to a maximum of 10 years.
