Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Technical Assistant:
    • Option 1: B.Sc. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in relevant subjects (Life Sciences, Chemistry, etc.) AND one-year full-time professional qualification or one-year experience in the relevant discipline.
    • Option 2: Diploma in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical / Computer / Library Science / Fire Safety) of at least 3 years full-time duration with minimum 60% marks and 02 years of experience.

  • Upper Age Limit: 28 Years for both Technical Assistant and Technician-1 posts.

Salary and Benefits

Selected candidates will receive a competitive salary package along with the security of a government job.

  • Technical Assistant: Appointed at Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400). The approximate total monthly emoluments including HRA and allowances will be around ₹67,530/- in Lucknow.
  • Technician-1: Appointed at Pay Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200). The approximate total monthly emoluments including HRA and allowances will be around ₹36,918/- in Lucknow.

Allowances: In addition to the Basic Pay, employees are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and medical reimbursement. Employees will be governed by the National Pension System (NPS) as adopted by CSIR.

Selection Process Explained

The selection process is designed to test both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge of the candidates.

  • Step 1: Trade Test: Candidates recommended by the Screening Committee will be invited for a Trade Test. This is a qualifying stage to assess the practical skills relevant to the specific post.
  • Step 2: Competitive Written Examination: Those who qualify in the Trade Test will appear for the Written Exam. The final merit list will be prepared based solely on the marks obtained in this written examination.

Exam Pattern Overview:

  • Paper-I (Mental Ability): 50 Questions (100 Marks). No Negative Marking. Tests General Intelligence, Reasoning, and Problem Solving.
  • Paper-II (General Awareness & English): 25 Questions each (150 Marks total). Negative marking applies (1 mark deducted for every wrong answer).
  • Paper-III (Concerned Subject):
    • Technical Assistant: 100 Questions (300 Marks).
    • Technician-1: 50 Questions (150 Marks).
