GSSSB Junior Geologist Salary & Benefits 2025
Selected candidates for the Junior Geologist position will be appointed with a fixed pay for the first five years.
- Fixed Pay for First Five Years: ₹49,600 per month. Other benefits as per government resolutions will also be applicable.
- Regular Pay Scale (After 5 years): Upon satisfactory completion of five years, candidates will be eligible for regular appointment in the pay scale of ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 (Level-8) of the 7th Pay Commission.
GSSSB Junior Geologist Selection Process 2025
The selection process for the Junior Geologist posts will involve a competitive examination.
- Competitive Written Examination:
- The examination will be conducted in a single stage, using an MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format, either as a Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) or OMR based.
- The exam will consist of two parts: Part-A and Part-B.
- The level of the question paper will be equivalent to the educational qualification prescribed for the post.
- Total Questions: 210 (60 in Part-A + 150 in Part-B).
- Total Time: 3 hours (180 minutes) for both parts combined.
- Negative Marking: Yes, 1/4 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Qualifying Standard: A minimum qualifying standard of 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B is required for all categories.
- Document Verification:
- After the provisional results are declared, candidates approximately twice the number of vacancies in each category, who meet the minimum qualifying standards in both Part-A and Part-B, will be called for document verification based on their total marks.
- If the required number of candidates is not met, more candidates from the provisional merit list may be called.
- Final Merit List & Recommendation:
- A final selection list and waiting list (if applicable) will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the competitive examination and document verification, considering the category-wise vacancies.
- The GSSSB will then recommend the selected candidates to the concerned government department for appointment.
