Salary & Benefits for GSSSB Municipal Engineer
Selected candidates for the Municipal Engineer, Class-3 post will receive an attractive remuneration package:
- Fixed Pay (First Five Years): Rs. 49,600/- per month. Other benefits as per the resolution will also be applicable.
- Regular Pay Scale (After Five Years): Upon satisfactory completion of five years of service, candidates will be eligible for regular appointment in the pay scale of Rs. 39,900 – Rs. 1,26,600/- (Level-7) as per the 7th Pay Commission.
GSSSB Municipal Engineer Selection Process 2025
The selection process for the Municipal Engineer post will involve a single-stage competitive examination.
Written Examination (MCQ Based)
- The examination will be conducted in a CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) / OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) format with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- The question paper will be of a level equivalent to the educational qualification prescribed for the post.
- The examination will consist of two parts: Part-A and Part-B.
- Part-A (Total 60 Marks):
- Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation: 30 Marks
- Quantitative Aptitude Tests: 30 Marks
- Part-B (Total 150 Marks):
- Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati and English Comprehension: 30 Marks
- Questions related to the relevant subject (Civil Engineering) and its utility: 120 Marks
- Part-A (Total 60 Marks):
- Total Questions: 210 (60 questions in Part-A and 150 questions in Part-B).
- Total Duration: A combined time of 3 hours (180 minutes) will be allotted for both Part-A and Part-B.
- Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking system. For every incorrect answer, 1/4th of the marks allocated to that question will be deducted.
- Answer Key: A provisional answer key will be published after the exam, and candidates can raise objections. A final answer key will be published after considering the objections. If any question is cancelled in the final answer key, its marks will be proportionally distributed (pro-rata) among the remaining valid questions.
Qualifying Standards & Merit List
- A minimum qualifying standard of 40% marks will be applicable separately for Part-A and Part-B. This minimum standard of 40% will apply to all categories and will not be lowered under any circumstances.
- Based on the total marks obtained (considering the qualifying standards), a provisional merit list will be prepared.
- Candidates approximately twice the number of vacancies in each disability group (A, B, C, D & E) will be called for Document Verification based on merit. If necessary, more candidates from the provisional merit list may be called.
- A final selection list and waiting list will be prepared based on merit and the number of vacancies in each category after document verification.
Scribe/Compensatory Time for Divyangjan Candidates
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (as defined under The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016) and those with limitations in writing speed may avail the facility of a scribe and/or compensatory time, subject to conditions.
- Eligible candidates (Benchmark Disability or temporary disability affecting writing ability) can apply for a scribe/compensatory time after downloading their admit card by following the procedure on the GSSSB website. Applications must be submitted via email at least two days before the exam.
- Candidates with Blindness, Locomotor disability (Both Arms affected-BA) with benchmark disability (not less than 40%) need to submit their disability certificate but not a separate medical certificate for writing inability. Other benchmark disabilities or temporary disabilities require a certificate as per Appendix-I regarding physical limitation to write.
- Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination is permissible.
How to Apply Online for GSSSB Municipal Engineer Recruitment 2025
Candidates must apply online through the OJAS portal. Follow these steps carefully:
- Visit the OJAS Website
- Navigate to Application: Click on “Online Application,” then “Apply.” Select “GSSSB” from the list of organizations.
- Select Advertisement: Find Advertisement No. 307/202526 for Municipal Engineer, Class-3. Click on the post name and then click “Apply”.
- Read Details: Before applying, click on “More Details” to read the full advertisement thoroughly.
- Start Application: Click “Apply Now.” A new window will open. If you have completed One Time Registration (OTR), some details might be pre-filled. - Signature: 2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width, JPG format, max 15 KB.
- Scan and save your photo and signature in your computer. Use the “Browse” button to select the files and then “Upload”. The same photo and signature must be used throughout the recruitment process.
- Confirm Application:
- Go to the “Online Application” tab and click “Confirm Application.” Enter your Application Number and Birth Date.
- Review all details carefully. You can edit your application before confirmation. No changes can be made after the application is confirmed.
- If all details are correct, click “Confirm Application”.
- Generate Confirmation Number: A “Confirmation Number” will be generated. This is crucial for all future correspondence and procedures; save it securely.
- Print Application: Click on “Print Application.” Select the job (advertisement number), enter your confirmation number and birth date to view and print your application. It is mandatory to take a printout and keep it safe until the entire recruitment process is completed. You cannot download the application form after the last date.
Important Note on Multiple Applications: If a candidate submits more than one application, only the last confirmed application will be considered valid, and others will be rejected. For unreserved category candidates (though this is a reserved drive), if fees are paid for multiple applications, the fee for the last confirmed application with fee payment will be valid, and previous fees will not be refunded or adjusted.
GSSSB Municipal Engineer Application Fees 2025
- For Reserved Category (Divyangjan Candidates): Rs. 400/-.
- Refund Policy: The examination fee paid by candidates who appear for the examination will be refunded. Candidates who do not appear for the exam will not get a refund.
- Payment Mode: Fees must be paid online only through Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or Wallets.
- Payment Window: After submitting the application and obtaining the confirmation number, the fee must be paid by June 16, 2025 (11:59 PM).
- How to Pay: On the OJAS website, under the “Online Application” tab, click “Print Application Form / Pay Fees.” Select “Online Payment of Fees”.
- Transaction Charges: Applicable transaction charges will be borne by the candidate.
- Fee Receipt: After successful payment, a receipt will be generated. Candidates must print this e-receipt and keep it for their records. If the fee receipt is not generated, the application fee is not considered paid, and the application will be invalid.
- Applications without fee payment will be rejected without any intimation. Fees once paid will not be refunded if the application is rejected for any reason.
