Union Bank SO Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria before applying:

Nationality/Citizenship:

An applicant must be:

  • A Citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, for permanent settlement, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), or Vietnam for permanent settlement in India.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2025):

  • Minimum Age: 22 years

Educational Qualification & Experience (as of 20.05.2025):

  • Assistant Manager (Credit):
    • Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
    • AND CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS
    • OR Full-time regular MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM (2 years) with specialization in Finance (minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
    • Desirable Experience (Not Compulsory): Post qualification working experience in PSBs/BFSI.
  • Assistant Manager (IT):
    • Full-time B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc (IT)/M.S/M.Tech/5-year Integrated M.Tech in specified engineering/IT fields (Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Data Science, AI/ML, Cyber Security etc.) from a recognized University/Institution.
    • Mandatory Experience: Minimum 1-year Post qualification experience in IT domain (Cloud Operations, DevSecOps/Kubernetes, Networking, Data Analytics/Engineering, Cyber Security/SOC, Software Development/Scripting, GenAI/ML, OS Admin, DB Admin, Data Centre Ops, API Development etc.).
    • Desirable Certifications (Not Compulsory): Relevant certifications in Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Security (CCSP, CEH, CISA etc.), Networking (CCNA), Data Analytics/Engineering, Database tech, API management etc. are desirable.

Union Bank SO Salary & Benefits 2025

Selected candidates will be appointed in the JMGS-I scale.

  • Basic Pay Scale: ₹ 48480 – 2000/7 – 62480 – 2340/2 – 67160 – 2680/7 – 85920.
  • Allowances: In addition to the basic pay, officers are eligible for Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or leased accommodation, City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), and other allowances as per Bank rules.
  • Other Benefits: Residential quarters/lease rent, Leave Fare Concession (LFC), reimbursement of medical/hospitalization expenses, and other perquisites as per Bank policy.

Union Bank SO Selection Process 2025

The selection process may include:

  1. Online Examination:
    • Objective type test with sections on Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and Professional Knowledge relevant to the post.
    • Total Marks: 225 
    • Total Duration: 150 Minutes (2.5 hours) 
    • Negative Marking: Yes (0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer).
  2. Group Discussion (GD): (If conducted by the Bank)
    • Maximum Marks: 50 
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 25 (General/EWS), 22.5 (Reserved) 
  3. Personal Interview (PI):
    • Maximum Marks: 50 
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 25 (General/EWS), 22.5 (Reserved) 
    • Candidates will be called in a 1:3 ratio based on online test merit (if conducted).
  4. Document Verification: During the interview stage.

  4. New Registration: If you are a new user, click on “Click here for New Registration”. Enter basic details like Name, Contact number, and Email ID. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated.
  5. Login & Fill Application: Log in using the generated credentials and fill in the application form carefully. Use the “SAVE AND NEXT” option to save your progress.
