  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 26 years
  • This means candidates must have been born on or between 02/08/1999 and 02/08/2007.
  • Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. PwBD candidates receive an age relaxation of 10 years (13 for OBC, 15 for SC/ST).

Other Essential Eligibility

  • Residency: Candidates must be Indian nationals who have either passed their qualification from an institute in Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra, OR they must be permanent residents (with a valid Domicile Certificate) of Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra.

WCL Apprentice Stipend and Benefits

The monthly stipend (salary) for WCL Apprentices is fixed and varies by qualification. This is a consolidated amount paid to support you during your 12-month training period.

  • Graduate Apprentice: ₹12,300 per month
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: ₹10,900 per month
  • Trade Apprentice (2-year ITI): ₹11,040 per month (Fitter, Electrician, Wireman, Surveyor, Draughtsman, Machinist, Turner)
  • Trade Apprentice (1-year ITI): ₹10,560 per month (COPA, Welder, Mechanic Diesel, Pump Operator, Steno)
  • Fresher (Security Guard): ₹8,200 per month

This stipend is a fixed monthly payment. Unlike a permanent job, it does not include separate allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), or Transport Allowance (TA). For Graduate and Diploma apprentices, half of the stipend is paid by the Government of India through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

WCL Apprentice Selection Process 2025

The selection for this apprenticeship is straightforward and based purely on merit. The notification does not mention any written exam or interview.

The merit list will be prepared based on the marks you scored in your qualifying examinations.

Merit List Calculation

  • For Graduate & Diploma: The merit list will be drawn based only on the marks obtained in the final Degree or Diploma examination.
  • For ITI Trade Apprentices: The merit list will be based on the average of the passing percentage in Matriculation (10th class) AND the passing percentage in the respective ITI trade certificate (NTC/STC).
  • For Security Guard (Fresher): The merit list will be drawn based only on the marks obtained in the Matriculation (10th class) examination.

After the provisional merit list is out, candidates (1.5 times the number of vacancies) will be called for the next stages.

Document Scrutiny & Medical Test

  1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must report on the specified date with all original certificates and documents (mark sheets, ID proof, caste certificate, domicile certificate, etc.). Your information will be verified against the online application.
