Eligibility Criteria
Before proceeding with the application, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria as stipulated by the Central Bank of India. The criteria pertaining to nationality, age, and educational qualifications are detailed below.
Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be:
- A Citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or certain East African countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India. Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizens must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- It is mandatory for candidates to have completed their graduation on or after January 1, 2021.
- Applicants must be registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal to be eligible to apply.
Age Limit (as on May 31, 2025)
- The minimum age for applicants is 20 years.
- The maximum age for unreserved and EWS candidates is 28 years.
- Candidates must have been born between May 31, 1997, and May 31, 2005 (both dates inclusive).
Age Relaxation:
Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for reserved categories as per government guidelines:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Widows, divorced women, and legally separated women who have not remarried: Up to 35 years for General/EWS, 38 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST candidates.

Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates will be engaged as apprentices for a period of one year and will be entitled to a fixed monthly stipend.
- Stipend: ₹15,000 per month.
- Other Allowances/Benefits: Apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances or benefits apart from the stipend.
This apprenticeship is a training opportunity and does not guarantee future employment with the bank.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on a two-stage process designed to assess their knowledge and proficiency.
- Online Examination (Objective Type): The online test will be conducted by the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India (BFSI SSC). The examination structure is as follows:

The total duration of the exam is 60 minutes. Importantly, there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The selection will be based on merit, and in case of a tie in scores, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
- Test of Local Language: Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in one of the specified local languages of the state for which they have applied.
The final selection is subject to meeting the cut-off marks in the online exam, satisfactory verification of documents, and being found medically fit.
