IIT Tirupati Non Teaching Recruitment 2026: 13 Central Institute Posts Open Now

Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati has opened direct recruitment for 13 non-teaching posts across Group A, Group B and Group C. The spread here is unusually wide — from a Superintending Engineer on Pay Level 13 down to a Junior Technician on Pay Level 4 — so a diploma holder and a senior engineer with fifteen years behind them are both looking at the same advertisement. The online window closes on 30 September 2026 at 5:00 PM.

Every post in this advertisement asks for experience on top of your degree, and that is where most applications fall apart. If you work in administration, campus security, counselling, Hindi translation or any of the engineering government jobs streams, read your own row carefully before you pay. Below you will find the post-wise vacancies, age ceilings, pay levels and the conditions that quietly reject applications.

How Many Vacancies Are There in IIT Tirupati Non Teaching Recruitment 2026?

The reservation is not the same for every post, so look at your own row rather than the total. The Institute has also said plainly that the number of posts is tentative and it may choose not to fill any of them.

There is not a single SC or ST reserved seat in this advertisement. SC and ST candidates may still apply and be considered against the Unreserved seats, but only if they meet the full Unreserved eligibility — and since age relaxation is given only in respect of vacancies reserved for a category, the relaxation you normally rely on does not help you here. Two posts carry a horizontal PwBD reservation and one Junior Technician post is horizontally reserved for Ex-Servicemen; both are counted inside the 13, not added on top.

What is the Eligibility for IIT Tirupati Non Teaching Posts 2026?

IIT Tirupati Non Teaching Educational Qualification 2026

Every post needs a minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA on a ten-point scale, and only experience gained after you finished that minimum qualification is counted.

PostRequirement
Superintending EngineerBachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, plus 15 years in execution of civil and electrical works including public health and contract management; or an analogous post at the same level, or 7 years as an Executive Engineer in Pay Level 11 or its equivalent
Senior Technical OfficerBE, B.Tech, M.Sc or MCA in Computer Science or IT with 10 years experience of which 5 at Pay Level 10 and above, or 12 years industrial; ME or M.Tech with 8 years (5 at Level 10), or 10 years industrial; Ph.D. with 5 years at Level 10 and above, or 7 years industrial
Assistant RegistrarMaster’s degree with 8 years in administration, finance, academics, legal, audit, stores or establishment, of which 6 years at supervisory level (Level 6 and above)
CounsellorMaster’s degree in Psychology (Counselling or Clinical) with 5 years clinical experience and a valid RCI registration as Clinical Psychologist
Security OfficerBachelor’s degree with 10 years security supervisory experience, 5 of them at Level 7 and above, plus a valid LMV and motorcycle driving licence
Hindi TranslatorBachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects, plus 2 years translation experience in a government office
Junior Technical SuperintendentBE, B.Tech, M.Sc or MCA in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electronics and Communication or Software Sciences, with 2 years; B.Sc or BCA with 4 years; Diploma with 5 years — for the Network Security post the Diploma may also be in Electrical Engineering
Junior Technician (Chemical Engineering)BE or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering; or Diploma in Chemical Engineering with 3 years; or ITI in Chemical Engineering with 5 years
Junior Technician (Systems and CSE)BE, B.Tech, M.Sc or MCA in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, or Electronics and Communication (the exact branch list differs slightly between the two posts); or B.Sc or BCA with 2 years; or Diploma with 3 years; or ITI with 5 years

The three-route structure for the technical posts is the most useful thing on this page. A diploma holder or an ITI holder is not shut out — the Institute simply asks for more years of work in exchange. Note also that almost every degree above is written as “or equivalent” from a recognised University or Institute, so an equivalent qualification counts; carry the equivalence certificate your university issues. That wording matters for Electronics and Electronics and Communication graduates in particular — the computer-side posts name your branch, so do not assume these are only for Computer Science degree holders.

One trap is worth naming. The Junior Technician post sitting in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department is a Systems job and asks for a computer qualification, not a civil one. So if your background is in computer and IT government jobs, six of the thirteen posts are open to you across three different pay levels — and if it is civil engineering, only the Superintending Engineer post is.

Thirteen posts is a small number, but a central institute of national importance with a Level 13 opening at the top and a Level 4 opening at the bottom does not advertise often. Work out your exact age on 30 September 2026, collect the experience certificates in the prescribed format with their statutory backup, and apply a week early rather than on the final evening.
