ITPO Senior Assistant, Assistant (Accounts), Junior Stenographer & Junior Assistant Vacancy 2026: Who Can Apply
The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has released a direct recruitment notice for 46 posts. The posts are Senior Assistant (Civil, Electrical and Architecture), Assistant (Accounts), Junior Stenographer and Junior Assistant (General Cadre), with pay from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1,10,000 on the IDA pattern.
There is a catch. This is not an open exam. Only candidates who appeared in certain SSC 2024 exams, were not finally recommended and opted to disclose their details can apply, or, for Architecture, candidates with a qualifying GATE score. ITPO is based at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and this is a direct recruitment through the SSC and GATE route. Senior Assistant (Architecture) has a single seat and it is reserved for OBC. Only OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates can take it. Electrical has no EWS seat, and Junior Stenographer has no ST seat.

For the SSC route, you must have been not finally recommended and must have opted to disclose your details under DoPT OM dated 21.12.2020. The merit list is built from your marks and rank in that exam. In simple words, the degree alone is not enough. You need the right degree and the right SSC or GATE record. Before you open the form, keep your SSC mark sheet or GATE score ready, because it has to be uploaded.

For the three Senior Assistant posts, the diploma holder’s 1 year must be in construction and maintenance of permanent structures (Architecture: in Architecture), in a Government, Public Sector or reputed private organisation, preferably in exhibitions. Knowing a foreign language other than English is only desirable, so do not skip the post if you lack it. Accounts experience in Government or PSUs gets preference. Junior Assistant needs typing of 35 w.p.m. in English; for Hindi the PDF gives both 30 and 25 w.p.m., so confirm with ITPO. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills (or equivalent) are a must. Graduates, B.Com. holders and engineering diploma or degree holders all have a post here.
Degrees through open or distance learning are accepted. Marks must be given as a percentage to two decimals, and rounding off is never accepted: 54.99% counts as less than 55%. Your qualification date is the date your result was declared or marksheet issued, with no relaxation.

Age and experience are counted on the closing date, 13 November 2026. SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India rules, and the notification does not state the number of years. Departmental employees applying for Senior Assistant (Architecture) and Kashmiri migrants get relaxation as per guidelines. The notification states only these scales and does not list allowances, so check the PDF before you plan your budget around an in-hand figure. Even so, the gap is clear: Senior Assistant starts at Rs 29,000, which is Rs 4,000 above Junior Assistant. If you qualify for more than one post, compare the pay with the experience each one asks for.

ITPO publishes the shortlisted names on its website only, and call letters go to your registered email only. ITPO may modify, restrict, enlarge or cancel the recruitment process without notice.
