Eligibility Criteria for MPSC Recruitment 2025

Candidates must ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria as of the last date of application submission (May 15, 2025).

Educational Qualification:

  • Inspector of Legal Metrology:
    • B.Sc with Physics as one subject OR B.E./B.Tech in any discipline.
    • Must speak one of the state languages and be physically/mentally fit.
  • Junior Engineer Grade -I (Civil):
    • Minimum 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Government recognized Institution.
    • Note for C&RD Dept JE: Post is transferable; selected candidates undergo departmental exams and training.
  • Draughtsman Grade-II/Surveyor Grade-II:
    • Diploma in Civil Engineering / Draughtsman / Surveyor from a recognized institution.
    • Must undergo prescribed physical and medical tests.
  • Accounts Assistant:
    • H.S.S.L.C (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025):

  • Minimum Age: 18 years.
  • Maximum Age: 32 years.
  • Relaxation:
    • 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
    • Upper age limit relaxation for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) as per government norms (ranging from 5 to 15 years depending on post group and category).
    • No age bar for regular Meghalaya Government employees who entered service within the prescribed age limit.
  • Proof of Age: Only Matriculation/Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent recognized certificate will be accepted. Horoscopes, affidavits, etc., are not valid.

Salary and Benefits (Pay Scale)

Selected candidates will be offered pay scales as per the Revised Pay Structure of the Government of Meghalaya:

  • Inspector of Legal Metrology: Level 12.
  • Junior Engineer Grade -I (Civil): Level 11.
  • Draughtsman Grade-II/Surveyor Grade-II: Level 7.
  • Accounts Assistant: Level 6.
  • Other allowances and benefits will be admissible as per government rules.

MPSC Selection Process 2025

The selection process involves the following stages:

  1. Screening Test: A test comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) will be conducted. The subjects and marks vary by post:
    • Inspector: General English (100), General Studies & Aptitude (100), Mathematics (100) = Total 300 Marks.
    • JE Civil: General English (50), General Knowledge (50), Civil Engineering (Diploma Level) (200) = Total 300 Marks.
    • Draughtsman/Surveyor: General English (100), Civil Engineering (Diploma Level) (200) = Total 300 Marks.
    • Accounts Assistant: General English (100), General Knowledge (100), Mathematics (100) = Total 300 Marks.
  2. Personal Interview: Candidates who pass the Screening Test will be called for a Personal Interview. The ratio for calling candidates will be decided by the MPSC. Original documents verification will be mandatory before the interview.
  3. Final Recommendation: Based on performance in the Screening Test and Personal Interview.

Note: Admission to all stages is purely provisional, subject to satisfying eligibility conditions. Candidature can be cancelled at any stage if found ineligible.

  • e-Challan: Cash payment at any SBI branch (preferred method). Generate e-Challan online, print it, and pay at the bank. Keep the challan; no need to submit it to MPSC.
