Meghalaya PSC Recruitment 2025 for AE, JE, and Vice Principal Roles – Introduction

The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released an official notification (Advt No. 7/2025) inviting online applications for the recruitment of Vice Principals in ITIs, Assistant Agriculture Engineers (AAE), and Junior Engineers (JE) Grade-I (Electrical) across various government departments in Meghalaya. A total of 10 vacancies are announced under this recruitment drive. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the MPSC website until 5:00 PM on May 22, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for Various Posts Notified by Meghalaya PSC

Candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications and age limits as of the last date of application submission (May 22, 2025).

Educational Qualification

  • Vice Principal (ITI): Essential – Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Assistant Agriculture Engineer (LUS): Essential – B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Junior Engineer Grade-I (Electrical): Essential – 3 (Three) years Diploma Course in Electrical Engineering.
    • Note: Specific conditions apply regarding degrees/certificates obtained from certain institutions after 31.05.2013.

Age Limit (as of 01.01.2025)

  • Vice Principal: 21 to 32 years.
  • Assistant Agriculture Engineer & Junior Engineer: 18 to 32 years.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
    • No age bar for regular Government employees who entered service within the prescribed age limit.
    • Age relaxation for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) varies based on post group (up to 10 or 15 years).
  • The date of birth entered in the Matriculation/Secondary School Leaving Certificate will be accepted. Other documents like horoscopes or affidavits are not accepted.

Important Dates

  • Notification Date: April 21, 2025 
  • Online Application End Date: May 22, 2025 (up to 17:00 hrs) 
  • Exam Date: To be notified later by MPSC.

Salary & Benefits

The pay scale for the selected candidates will be based on the Revised Pay Structure of the Government of Meghalaya:

  • Vice Principal: Level 15
  • Assistant Agriculture Engineer (LUS): Level 15
  • Junior Engineer Grade-I (Electrical): Level 11
  • Other allowances and benefits will be applicable as per government rules.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve the following stages:

  1. Screening Test: A Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based test will be conducted. The subjects and marks distribution vary for each post:
    • Vice Principal: General English (50 marks), General Knowledge & Aptitude (100 marks), Mechanical/Electrical Engg. (Degree Level) (200 marks). Total: 350 marks.
    • Asst. Agriculture Engineer: General English (100 marks), General Knowledge (50 marks), Civil Engg. (Degree Level) (200 marks). Total: 350 marks.
    • Junior Engineer (Electrical): General English (100 marks), Electrical Engg. (Diploma Level) (200 marks). Total: 300 marks.
  2. Personal Interview: Candidates who qualify the Screening Test will be called for a Personal Interview. The ratio for calling candidates will be decided by MPSC. Original documents relating to education, age, caste, etc., must be produced during the interview stage.

Final selection will be based on performance in both stages.

Candidates must apply online through the official MPSC website. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the MPSC official website.
  2. Click on the “Online Application” icon.
  3. If you are a new user, complete the one-time registration process. Existing users can log in directly.
  4. Find the advertisement for Advt No. 7/2025 and the desired post.
  5. Fill out the online application form carefully, ensuring all details are correct. Update your profile if necessary before applying.
  6. Upload scanned copies of required documents (Photo, Signature, Certificates).
  7. Pay the application fee online or via e-Challan.
  8. Review the application form before final submission.
  9. Submit the application form before the deadline: May 22, 2025 (5:00 PM).
  10. Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

Note: Applications submitted through any mode other than online will be rejected.

  • Fee Exemption: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWDs) are exempted from application fees upon furnishing a valid Disability Certificate.
