The Excise and Taxation field-office rows for Clerk (Accounts) and Clerk (Legal), and the Financial Commissioner’s Clerk (Legal) seat, carry no General seat. Women’s seats are counted inside each total, not added on top.

For every Clerk post you must also clear the Board’s competitive test and a Punjabi and English typing test at 30 words per minute. Under Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services Rules, 1994, no person shall be appointed unless they have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi examination. This applies to all 70 posts. So graduates looking for government jobs from outside Punjab should check their Matric marksheet first.
The cut-off date for qualifications is the last date of application, 19 October 2026. A result that comes after that date will not count.
One simple tip: match your degree to the exact department row, not just the post name. A B.Com graduate fits Clerk (Accounts) in Excise and Taxation, while a B.Sc. or B.A. graduate with Mathematics or Statistics fits the Employment Generation row. For Clerk (IT), the Civil Aviation row alone asks for 50% marks and, on the BCA route, two years of experience.

Government employees claiming the higher age limit must bring an NOC from their department at counselling. Without it, the relaxation cannot be given.

The pay is under the 7th Central Pay Commission scale. Allowances follow the Punjab Finance Department letters dated 15 January 2015 and 4 October 2016, and later instructions. The notification does not give an in-hand figure, so do not trust any exact in-hand number you see elsewhere. The Field Artist post pays the highest starting figure, and the Driver post has the widest scale.

There is negative marking in Part-B, so do not guess blindly. Remember that Part-A only needs 50%, but if you fail it, your Part-B marks will not help you. Clerk candidates should start typing practice in the Raavi font now, because the typing test is qualifying and a slow speed can cost you the post. If marks tie, the older candidate goes higher; then higher percentage in the required qualification; then higher Matric marks. Pay online only. No fee waiver or concession is given to any candidate. The fee is non-refundable, and if the online transaction fails, your application is treated as not submitted.
