Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
The educational requirements vary for each post. Please note that candidates awaiting their final results as of the closing date (10.12.2025) are NOT eligible to apply.
- Junior Engineer (JE): Candidates must have a Three-year Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline (like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, S&T, etc.) from a recognized University/Institute. A B.E./B.Tech degree in the same discipline is also acceptable.
- Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): A Three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute is required.
- Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree with Physics and Chemistry, securing a minimum of 45% marks.
Age Limit
Candidates must meet the following age criteria as of 01.01.2026:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 33 Years
This means a candidate’s date of birth should be between 02.01.1993 and 01.01.2008. The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as per government rules:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD (UR): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per government rules (Para 5.2 of the notification).
Salary and Benefits

Candidates who qualify CBT-I (15 times the number of vacancies) will be called for CBT-II. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks you score in this test.

After qualifying CBT-II, candidates will be called for Document Verification (DV) and a mandatory Medical Examination (ME) to be eligible for final empanelment.
How to Apply Online: Step-by-Step Guide
To ensure your application is submitted correctly, follow these steps carefully. First, make sure you have the following documents ready before you begin.
Documents Required Before Applying:
- A valid personal mobile number and email ID (for OTPs and all communication).
- A webcam or mobile phone camera for capturing a LIVE photograph (pre-existing photos cannot be uploaded).
- A scanned copy of your signature (JPG/JPEG, 30KB – 49KB).
- SC/ST Certificate in PDF format (under 400KB) only if you are requesting the free train travel pass.
Application Steps:
- Go to the official RRB application portal (the link is provided in the “Essential Links” section below).
- First, you must ‘Create an Account’. If you have an account from a previous RRB recruitment, you can use the same credentials to log in.
- Fill in your basic details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID. Be extremely careful, as these details cannot be modified later.
- Log in with your new credentials and choose the RRB you wish to apply for. You can only apply to one RRB.
- Fill in the main application form with your educational qualifications, address, and other information.
- You will be prompted to capture a LIVE photograph using your device’s camera. Follow the on-screen instructions (plain background, no cap or glasses, look straight).
- Upload your scanned signature as per the specifications (running handwriting, not capital letters).
- Proceed to pay the application fee online using internet banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
- Review your entire application one last time before final submission.
- Download and print a copy of your completed application form for your future records.
Note for Existing Applicants: As per Corrigendum No. 1, candidates who have already applied can modify their option of chosen RRB and their preference of posts/Railway Zones without any modification fees. This free modification window is active from 25.11.2025 to 10.12.2025.
