How Are Candidates Selected for RRC WR Apprentice 2026?

The selection process is simple and completely merit-based. There is no written exam and no interview.

Merit List Preparation

The merit list is prepared by taking the average of:
– Percentage of marks in Matriculation (SSC/10th) — all subjects included
– Percentage of marks in ITI examination

Both are given equal weightage (50% each). The final merit percentage = (SSC % + ITI %) ÷ 2.

Tie-Breaking Rule

If two candidates have the same merit marks, preference goes to the older candidate. If dates of birth are also identical, the one who passed Matriculation earlier gets priority.

Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document/Certificate Verification at the respective Division/Workshop. You must carry all original documents along with two self-attested photocopies. A Medical Fitness Certificate (from a Government hospital) is also required.
