UKPSC PCS 2026 Notification: 67 Uttarakhand PCS Upper Subordinate Posts

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has released the Combined State Civil / Upper Subordinate Services Examination 2026, and this is the state’s biggest officer-level opening of the year. 67 posts are on offer across 16 services — Deputy Collector, Police Deputy Superintendent, Block Development Officer, Treasury Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner and more. Fourteen of them carry Pay Level-10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500). If you are a graduate hoping for a PCS officer’s chair in your own state, this is the notification you have been waiting for.

Applications stay open till 29 September 2026 (11:59:59 PM), and your fee must reach the Commission by the same moment. Read the post-wise qualification table with care, because seven of these sixteen posts do not accept a plain graduate degree. This guide from GovtJobsAlert.in covers vacancies, eligibility, exam pattern, fees and the quiet conditions that get candidates rejected. Browse more Uttarakhand government job notifications too.

Two facts decide whether you should apply at all. First, every reservation and relaxation benefit, vertical and horizontal, is allowed only to candidates domiciled in Uttarakhand. A woman, SC, OBC, EWS, ex-serviceman, PwBD or state agitator candidate from outside the state may apply, but only under the Unreserved category. Second, no post in this advertisement is reserved for Uttarakhand ST, ex-servicemen, freedom fighters’ dependents, PwBD or orphan candidates, and there is no skilled-sportsperson seat either. Those candidates apply against their base category and can still claim the age and fee concession with a valid certificate.

What is the Selection Process for UKPSC PCS 2026? Prelims, Mains and Interview

StageDetail
Preliminary ExaminationObjective screening test; its marks are not added to the final merit
Main ExaminationWritten, eight papers, 1,500 marks
Interview / Personality Test150 marks
Prelims PaperQuestionsMarks
Paper I — General Studies150 (1 mark each)150
Paper II — General Aptitude Test100 (1.5 marks each)150

There is negative marking in the Prelims. One-fourth of the marks fixed for a question is deducted for every wrong answer, and ticking more than one option counts as wrong even when one of them is correct. A question you leave blank carries no penalty. Prelims merit is built only on Paper I, while Paper II is qualifying and needs 33% marks from every category.

Mains PaperMarks
General Hindi150
Essay150
General Studies I to VI200 each
Written papers combined1,500
Interview150
Written papers plus interview1,650

All eight Mains papers are compulsory, and General Hindi needs a minimum of 35% to qualify. Calculators are barred in both examinations. The Prelims runs in 24 Uttarakhand cities you can choose from, but the Main examination is held only at Haldwani and Haridwar — plan your travel and stay for those two cities. Start on the detailed exam pattern and syllabus early, because the two Mains papers on Uttarakhand alone carry 400 marks.
