Salary and Pay Scale

The salary for these prestigious posts is highly competitive and as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

Selection Process

The UPSC selection process is meticulously designed to select the most suitable candidates.

  1. Shortlisting: Initially, applications will be shortlisted based on the information provided by candidates. The commission may use criteria like higher educational qualifications or more relevant experience than the minimum prescribed.
  2. Recruitment Test (RT): For posts where a large number of applications are received, the UPSC will conduct a Computer-Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) to shortlist candidates for the interview. The final merit is often determined by a 75:25 weightage for the RT and Interview, respectively.
  3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview. The interview will assess the candidate’s domain knowledge, personality, communication skills, and suitability for the high-responsibility role.
  4. Document Verification: Candidates must produce all original documents for verification at the time of the interview.
